Were those guys on the X-Files illuminati? I do rember there were a bunch of guys that were responsible for alot of things but I have not watched in years so I dont rember much of it.

The Illuminati was supposedly founded in Bavaria in 1776 by a german law professor named Adam Weishaupt. But I read somewhere that it has been traced back to the ancient Temple of Wisdom in Cairo, long before the birth of Christ.

The Illuminati (apparentlly)exists today under many different names and many different occupations. They are extremely powerful, very wealthly men (perhaps women too) who believe themselves to be the guardians of the secrets of the ages. It would appear that other such secret societies have been guarding certain technological gifts of the ETIs. Perhaps, from time to time, this alliance between the ETIs and the hidden society elects to make one of its secret technologies known to the general terrestrial population. Such intervention may be accomplished by carefully feeding certain framents of research to an "outside" scientist whose work and attitude have somehow made him/her acceptable to the society.

If theese Illuminati do exist then the world is a really fucked up place

I've heard mention of the illuminati before, but never really payed much attention to it, I always thought it was like most other rumors one heard about secret societies such as that, just myth and nothing else. Anyone have any actual proof that they exist though?

Its probably myth, but there are many events that one could point to and say that they pushed a situation one way or the other or some such thing.

I heard the Illuminati were in cahoots with the Majestic 12, or maybe they are the Majestic 12. I dunno I haven't gottne that far in Deus Ex yet

As for the illuminati...You will never find out anything about thier inner workings they are a closed community..Imagine the Mafia without the ability to sell thier life stories to film makers.

Wow so if you know too much all they have to do is press a button and a rocket will be shot up your ass in a min. Lucky for them they can make it look like an accident since they are known to control the government, police, and the media.

How come we know about them if they are kept so secret? I think the truth is more than we can ever imagine...
