As some of you may know there is a collossal 50ft mound that looks just like a face, after imaging it twice first in the viking satalites then again using the Mars oribiter... every single probe that has gone to the red planet has 'gone missing'...

Did the nasa scientists see something that we should have had, was there something else? A hint of an alien civilisation?

Why was it that the american mission to mars was scrapped in the 70s and penciled for the 80s then put on hodl indefinetyl when they had begun to build the craft to take them there?

There's something going on... the question is what?

i've seen pictures of that face, you know it could just be our egos that we think mounds of stuff equate a face.

Actually there is an ongoing Mars Project headed by a woman whos name escapes me(if you want I'll find it).I think the next Mars mission is in 2004 but I'd have to clarify that. There is still great interest and ongoing investigations into the planet as far as I know.

The ESA (European Space Agency) is sending a mission..23rd May 2003 leaving from Baikonur spaceport in Kazakhstan. It will have the Beagle 2 probe on board to take samples as there has already been ice discovered on the surface.
NASA seems to work very seperately from the European contingent and also have plans for future trips. I think it's more motivated by the ego of who has the biggest rocket, myself.

America will have to step up now china and russia want to do a joint mission....

Well, the chinese will have to do a joint with someone, we all know what small rockets they have.

I wonder if they got any decent info from the U.S spy plane mission of a few years back.

i believe in aliens it is just too concedid of us to think we are the only beings in the intire solar system.

NASA just took more pictures of the face in 2001. They are very high-resolution, and look more like a mound of dust than anything else. Of course, the theory is that the face is a structure, and that it is covered by about 10,000 years worth of dust. None of the pictures really work toward either sides of the argument, and likely never will. Sort of like how one person sees a cloud and another sees a two-headed elephant. The only way that we can ever be sure is to go over there and dig the thing up, which would likely be labeled as a massive misappropriation of funds. However, there is actually a second face that is half destroyed but still recognizable, and a "city" of pyramids not far from both sites. This further fuels the Mars/Egypt connection theory (both faces look a lot like the sphinx). Here are some links:
