Yes, that game was amazing. It is hard to believe that it was actually released before the events of 9/11, because the parallels are so very close. That game was one of the things that came to my mind some time later after those events, especially when all that 'War against terrorism' stuff started.

And the game is great too. Definetely on my Top 10. Can't wait for the sequel.

Machina are machines of god. Deus ex is unstoppable killer or something like it.
So essentially it means unstoppable killing machine, I think.
