well here they have this thing where if you payed for it with check or credit card, the purchase could be traced, sparing you from having to present an actual paper receipt to get an exchange or return.

i dont know if it works that way with you guys but here its only the ones who pay with cash who get fucked in the ass if somethings defected or unsatisfying.

but it does make sense though, i ve taken notice as to how encouraging the sales reps are about purchasing something and then just returning it i dont want it later. FUCKERs they know its gonna disappear!!

Gotta love this.. went to best buy, bought some ram(micron) that my ASUS motherboard puked up.. Went back there 4 days later(with the receipts) and they had no problem with the return..

of course not.. best buy has two categories for items, service and dvo. dvo stands for defective void of operation. if something is dvo, they'll take it back with no questions asked, mainly 'cause they get reimbursed for the items from the manufactures.

ram, cd's, peripherials.. they're all dvo. best buy doesn't care. try doing that shit with a 52-inch big screen tv. they'll fuck you over and say it's gotta go to the service station.

You know, that is 99% true. I have had the same problem in the past with those fucking recipts. One was a brand new car stereo I had installed. The speaker blew, and guess what, they wouldn't do shit cuz the recipt was faded out even though it was only like, maybe, 2 weeks old. But, I bought a phone there, relized I didn't like it, brought it back, with NO recipt, and they took it back no problem. (Gave me a store credit on a gift card.) There is a way to work the system, though. They give you the option of buying a "insurance" or "warranty" on the item you just bought. When you do this, not only give you a big paper invoice recipt, they also save all your information into the system. Therefor, with or without the recipt, they will either give you a return or fix the product, depending on what the product is.
