I am beginning to think that America (or rather, the United States of America) is trying to homosexualize the population. The motive for this is unclear to me at this time. And whether or not you think "homosexualize" can be used in any context at all, much less the one I have used, is irrelivent to me.

I am talking about misguided feminism, how television is beginning to create an oddly homosexual view of men (such as demanding that guys have their entire bodies hairless), and the way women are seen more and more as "macho" and men as more of the passive, sensitive types.

I don't know, it's early and I'm tired. Tell me what you think.

Well.... I don't live in America but to "homosexualise" the entire population seems.... well.... ludicrous. Indeed men do have aspects of sensitivity though it can be cleverly disguised by their masculine "charm." In fact all foetuses(correct plural?) begin as females. And as for women being "macho" I suppose that's to assert the fact that we are not weak but this cannot be expressed without appearing to have a masculine nature (ridiculous as it is). Besides, even if this was the case, not everyone watches television. Perhaps there's hope?! It's not a terrible thing to be gay, so perhaps the commercial industry are trying to promote it rather than defending it as they should.

They dont begin as females, even females do not begin as females. Its just that everyone assumes that no male sexual organs=female even if no female ones also exist.
Funny thing is whenever men change in their droves to be more sensitive like women are supposed to want, the divorce rate tends to rise because the new men "are boring".

I know what your talking about.. but i disagree.
I see it more as 'feminism gone to far'.
Equal oppurtunity is now about reverse sexism... Pro feminism, while everyone who objects is 'sexist'.

Example: Coming up in Melb, is the 'Nike Womens classic Fun Run'. A fun run for women only.
To hold a: 'Nike Mens classic fun run' is illegal, and considered sexist.
This is where Pro feminism has taken 'equal oppurtunity'.

Another example:
Insurance companies offering 'better rates for women drivers'.
If offered for 'men', its illegal, but for women, it is legal.

Apparently for society to be "equal" now, we have to grant exclusive sexist rights to females- very similar to sexist laws from around 100 years ago..
By creating legal sexism for women, this equals up to the last 100 yrs of sexist male laws... well apparently so.

I hope you seriously dont believe that...

Otherwise I suppose youd support ideas therefore of Reverse Racism... The Black population of South Africa enslave the whites, beating & killing them indiscriminitely, all because the whites did it to them for the last 200 odd years.

On the persumption your in the US:
Would you support a new law in the South, allowing Blacks to OWN white slaves ?

I'm certainly not going to die at the hands of balding men with explosives and desire for omnipotence. And foetuses ARE female I swear, it's whent his hormone kicks in that they become male. Anyway foetuses are ugly blobs of jelly so it hardly matters.

And I suppose women should have equal oppertunities to be exposed to death.

Maybe the white slave thing is far fetched but I do think that revenge should be applied in this cruel and ridiculous world.

i think it's more like the androginization of the population. I think the people in charge are trying to take feelings of power away from the average guy, who is normally seen as a head of the household, father-figure type, and instead are emphasizing the power and machismo of the government. Hence the "cowboy" image of our president. Soon we'll be calling him "Big Brother" and we'll all feel so safe that he can protect us from the horrible arab people.

Relentless, I have found in you someone who has looked at the situation much as I have. Thank you for that. And though I hope that your Orwellian idea of the future does not occur, I must admit that it does look as a possibility. But I doubt that it will happen. People don't do that.
Even in Hitler's society, where people practically worshipped him, there was still a lot of distrust. I don't think that people will ever fully be under government control...but that might just be wishful thinking.

What is happening is that the world is slowly becoming one.. neither male nor female in outlook.. Just human.. And when we finally achieve that, then we shall move forward in our evolution..
At this time many good things will ocur..

and it's not entirely focused on america, although i think it's safe to say they have big part in what is made acceptable and the fashion on the world.

i don't think though, it's about making men more feminine and vice versa. i think it's more about not making men way macho and women way passive like what was once viewed as socially acceptable.

if you like to do something or live a certain way, you do it, rather than worrying about if it's too feminine or too macho.

Can you believe that this was the first thread I ever started?

Anyhow, I was recently talking to a friend of mine about this issue (I talk about this a lot for some reason) and it reminded me of this thread. In light of this new "Metrosexual" craze, I think that this topic deserves to be brought back up, anyhow.

My friend said that men are being "feminized" so that they will end up being more like female consumers, who consume more and are more easily persuaded to do so. I believe that there is some merit to this theory, and I will be on the lookout for this.

I think you put your finger on the most logical reason, Kain. I don't think there's any "conspiracy" to make men more feminised- they're just trying a new marketing technique to sell more crap to men. It's unfortunate but true- women are HUGE consummers of personal products. There are more women's magazines (and they're all the same) out there, and women's magazine's have the highest ad-to-content ratio. If they could get a similar market from men, they'd be really happy campers.
But it still all comes down to personal choice- you can just choose to not get roped up in it.
Oh, and reverse sexism or reverse racism is WRONG WRONG WRONG. It's hypocritical and it just serves to put both sides against one another.

Here is my take on it, President bush is a terrorist with a secret passive agenda.
Slowly he wants to turn the whole nation Homosexual and then when the birth rate drops he willact suprised and in turn ban homosexualiy, STDS will run rampant we will be at loss of half a generation and not to mention 3/4ths of the population is too young or suffering sexual desizes.......
Dont try to stop him, the college electoral systym is rigged and most of congress is controled by republicans, we are all gonna die.

The Electoral system IS rigged in a way. That is, if you count the fact there there is no third party representation there (which means that a third party candidate can NEVER win).

Anyhow, about the homo stuff, just check it out. Sensitivity is more important than the truth, feelings are more important than facts, and safety is more important than fun! We live in a time that the media and such targeting facilities as MTV are forcing us into this "70's Retro Revolution". This means long hair, tight clothes, and momma's boys. GAY, GAY, GAY. If not truly "gay" by common definition, shows like "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" are trying to make us "Metrosexual".

You can only walk the line between for so long before you fall into one side. It looks to me like someone is trying to push us.

Tight pants on guys are gay, but tight shirts get complaments from girls so they are alright.
I dont think you can just become gay, It may be a peer pressure thing, or just a sexual prefrence.
But some people like me are determined to stay straight.
