What's the worst thing it's possible to do? My bet is on genocide.

In my opinion, rape is the worst sin.

Rape is a violation that you have to live with the rest of your life, your spirit can die. When you die by any means-- murder, old age, an accident or genocide-- it is over. Death can be sweet.

I think murder is worse than rape. Rape is the destruction of someone's security and self, and is undoubtedly horrible, but the survivor is still alive. Murder is the destruction of one's entire existence, and as far as we know, the end of the person's sentience. I should clarify what makes Genocide worse in my mind, though. Genocide is to me more than just the murder of a large number of people- Communist Russia killed more people than Nazi Germany, but wasn't guilty of genocide to the degree that the Germans were. Genocide is the destruction of a culture, of an entire people, of part of human history. It's the spiritual equivalent of wiping an entire geographical region off the map, IMHO. It goes beyond violating something; it denies the existence of something that has every right under God to exist. It not only damages the victims, but the victimizer, and everyone else in the World.


That's my view, anyway.

I will have to agree with rape.

I`m going to be difficult and select destruction as I`m taking it and genocide on the basis that they are both completly sucessful.The complete destruction of nature would leave little chance of humanity and every other living organism suriving.

not that murder or genocide or any of the others are any worse but those all END with the death... sure there are those that will feel the loss but will be able to continue on...

the reason i feel rape is worse is this...it is directed at a specific person and that person has to live with that for the rest of the LIFE... which means YOU did something intentionally to destroy that persons life and they will have to live with it ...sure some get over it and become stronger but they ALL live with it till the day they die..it will haunt their dreams..make them more frightened in the day always looking behind them wondering when or where you will come at them again or someone else...that is worse than any death.....
as for god which is more of a violation...destroying that which was created ...or destroying that with out any hope of release ...

I agree with Genocide. With murder, its at least possible to have some sort of justification besides "I hate this entire group of people because of ______(trait here)"

However, taking it as personal feelings go, I chose rape.

I welcome death.

Although, torture was not implied as part of the murder/genocide arena; would perhaps change it; death in itself is not something to be feared; wow, you died, you don't give a fuck. Rape, you do in fact care afterwards.

I picked censorship.... why you might ask... because it can lead to any of the following things..... genocide, murder, rape, destruction, amongst many other things.....

i agree with Dyshade, though it does seem a bit of a leap to attribute genocide to censorship...

to stop the flow of ideas is basically shirking our humanity...

A lot of what happened during WW2 was attributed to censorship.... some countries did not even know what was happening in Germany during those times....

You are killing off an entire race of people for no reason, in most case... just because they are different than you. In that, you are disrespecting their life, their history, their sense of well-being...

not to mention, during WWII, many of the imprisoned were raped, tortured beyond comprehension, and left holding on to the last strand of their life, worrying what they would be subjected to next.... then finally.. put out of their misery.. but they died long before.

Genocide, when reflecting on the WWII, incorporates every other sin listed in the above.

No matter the choice you pick here, they all fall under 'Destruction'.

Murder - Destroying a life, not to mention the lives of family and friends.

Rape - Destroying a person's sense of safety, of self-confidence. Rape at the very essence, destroys someones right of choice.

Genocide - mentioned before, it is the destruction of a race of people, their culture, beliefs, ideas, way of life. Gone. Destruction widespread...

Suicide - Again, destroying life and potential.

Censorship - As rogue said, stopping the flow of ideas is basically shirking your humanity, thus, destroying what we know as society and life.

Theft - Another loss of perception, a blatant slap in the face to anyone believing in the merits of hard work and the reward to be had for it. Destruction of belief.

I know some of those were stretching it a bit ...but I hope My point was made all the same ....

Destruction is the greatest sin, because it is simplicity in itself ...creation is beauty ...and all the effort involved.

Destruction was meant to refer to the non-sentient or living, but I find it hard not to agree with you.
