...One of the greatest questions mankind has pondered.
I would like to see your thoughts and theories on this, feel free to ramble and ponder on the subject of how you came to existance.
Did God create mankind?
Did Man mutate and evolve from monkeys?
Are humans an experiment initiated by aliens, the earth being the petri dish?
Any other suggestions as to how Homo Sapiens came to be? Caveo - Saint of Carnivore, Slaughter and Death, Lifeline of the Left Hand, Slaughterer of Living, Harvester of Souls, Bringer of Doom (You ring - I bring, anybody want some?), Defiler of Creation and Devourer of All Things Containing Meat (I'm still wondering how that got there...)
The biggest problem with people,
and the greatest convenience,
is that they are humans.

Did God create mankind?
in my opinion, it's more the other way around: mankind created god. why? well, it started out as a why in itself a reason, and an inspiration that there was something and/or someone watching over us. but that's another thread. but no i don't think there was a being that set out to make us and our little world. Did Man mutate and evolve from monkeys?
again i don't believe so. the more i read about this the less possible the theory becomes. if we did evolve from monkeys, wouldn't we have the evidence by now instead of it still being just a theory? it doens't make sense that the missing link is STILL missing. Are humans an experiment initiated by aliens, the earth being the petri dish?
this one is the most plausible to me. maybe because i know shit all about it. or perhaps, we are aliens, abandoned in the early hours of earth and left to fend for ourselves and make this little planet 'ours'.
i could probably think of other ones, but it's late, and i'm not feeling particularly creative. might check back later though have you seen my marbles?

Masochist on the subject about god i follow you completely.
I think the alien fantasy suffers the same flaws as the god theory.....
Maybe humans or life on earth in generel comes from mars... I have read some quite interesting theories about this. Vomit up all ideals and serve
sleep and wake, and serve
Don't think just wake and serve

When I must go back to the springing into existance of the human race, I must look towards Nature, and the apes that are our closest relatives. They are our physical ancestors.
Now, when I must look at the springing into existance of the human soul, the self-aware nature of man, that is a whole other matter. I cannot for certain say from where it came, it could have evolved with us. Yet, having seen and felt all I have, I find it hard to believe us the product of a few billion years of evolution. There is more then this earth.
But a God? Not the christian god, at least. Or the islamic (they are basically the same). No, to me the whole concept is redefined. God = SUM(conciousness). Each of us, interlinked in that network we call God. And if sentient itself, the network (I would not be surprised if it was), then we are ourselves, but cells in the body of what is our god.
In essence we did create our god in this. By becoming self-aware.
As for the alien experiment thing, could be. But then again, we'd have to ask who created the aliens, no? ... Time has no bearing... ...when the whiteout begins...

Who created the Aliens is a mute point..... thousands of years ago an alien race came down to this planet to search for a substance that was rare on thier planet yet was abundant upon the Earth..... Gold.... gold works as a wonderful shield against radioactivity...... conducts electricity very well.... amongst thousands of other applications we can only guess at.... yet the aliens became tired of doing all the work themselves.... so they bioengineered a race to work for them using genetic material from themselves and the indiginous life on the planet.... they after all needed an intelligent slave.... one who could make decisions and follow spoken and written orders.... thousands of years later the aliens for whatever mysterious reasons fled from the Earth and left us to our fate....
this story that I have written down is taken from the Sumerians..... who insist that the "Gods" created us for that very purpose.... I would be inclined to go with Dyshade on this one.
When the Aliens left they would have cast us out of their ships,compounds..whatever.
Fits nicely into the Garden of Eden story
Plus mans evolution is perculiar on this planet, we are the only species with an evolutionary line rather that an evolutionary tree.

Yes there are several points which make this Alien Creation story very feasable...... one which you pointed out is that we do not have an evolutionary tree like every other creature on the planet.... we have a line.... we have not changed very much at all since the day we were created.... our intelligence is beyond that of any creature upon the Earth..... which means that we are leaps and bounds ahead of the evolutionary game here...... biblical life spans were much greater than our life spans now.... which could lead to the conclusion that if we are half alien perhaps there are vitamins and nutrients that we are missing which cut down on our life span..... bah there is much more.... And here's a religion thing.
We know that the Sumerians worshiped "Real" gods, by real I mean they walked amongst them.
Every religion on earth seems to descend in some way from the Sumerians.
What if one of the alien "handlers" got close to his charges and passed the aliens own religion on to them, a religion where they worshiped only one, noncorporial god who had created them.
The handlers charges then left or were sent away for having this knowledge (Sound farmiliar? ) and went out into the world on their own.
We know the Jewish religion started as a one god cult in Summeria...

I voted for alien experiment too...I don't know, it just seems more plausible at the time. Though we might not be an experiment, maybe refugees... You promised me the ending would be clear

Besides, if you regard your mother as an all-powerful being that's fine by me. After all, your parents are your immediate creators I guess Caveo - Saint of Carnivore, Slaughter and Death, Lifeline of the Left Hand, Slaughterer of Living, Harvester of Souls, Bringer of Doom (You ring - I bring, anybody want some?), Defiler of Creation and Devourer of All Things Containing Meat (I'm still wondering how that got there...)

Proof that we are not meant to be here and that we are alien to this world:
This planets EcoSystem is unable to support us.. It can support all other species except us..

that's a good point actually. hmmmm...
i point down my ma squeezed me out too. basically cause that's only one i *think* i know. but even that is subject to question.
another thing that is interesting, ancient civilisations have often had *alien*-like beings depicted as gods. one civilisation which escapes me now tried to imitate these beings which had a dome/cone shaped head and squeezed the skulls of their babies. i watched something that was showing the excavations of some skeletons that had the fractured and warped skulls. does this ring a bell to anyone? have you seen my marbles?

Jeebus who else voted stork? Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

i personally went with the stork... simply because there are too many very good arguments for each situation except the stork
God created us... to many religeous belivers that adhere to one supreme entity that created them ... can't argue with those that only belive in faith(well you can but it just winds up giving you a headache)
evolution... not enough is known about this planet or our species to give a diffinitive answer..... hell we just found not to long ago a few species that we thought were extinct who knows what we will find next....
alien ancestry... there are very good exhibits that support this hypothesis i.e.... the carvings in the earth that can only been seen from high altitudes that date far into the past... a few native american tribes belive that we came from the stars..... and of course that microbes can be found in metorites that crashed into the earth that could have kick started the gene pool
mother is the creator... well there is the simple fact that i am the genetic off spring from my parents
and for the stork ... well i like the idea that the universe was created by my reality just like the universe is created by your reality and that the whole sum of it is combined by each of our universes combining into a total conciousness which includes the past the future and the very moment that i exist .....i.e do i exist to you outside of this post that you are reading.. no but to me neither do you i created you just as you created me There is no Joy greater than soaring high on the wings of your dreams, EXCEPT mabey the joy of watching a Dreamer who has no where to land but in the Ocean of Reality! Alone together. It was all two people could ever be to each other, Alone. Together. For the dreams and secrets of our hearts may be spoken, but words are poor handmaidens. Wordes can never fully say what we want them to say, for they fumble, stammer, and break the best porcelain. The best one can hope for is to find along the way someone to share the path, content to walk in silence, for the heart communes best when it does not try to speak... from the book "Dragons of a Lost Star

I read a theory we eveolved from reptiles..but can that be, since we are warm blooded? There was once a prehistoric creature that archeoligists (did I spell that wrong? don't care) say that was half mammal, half reptile..don't remember the name.
I also have a theory (not that I believe it, just a THEORY) that aliens left us here because if we lived with them, they probably feared there would not be enough resources between the species. It would be as fucked as Earth with pollution, resource waste & war. However, I do believe we are from space..rocks from comets or meteorites have been found containing amino acids, the stuff all living beings are made from.
