and then the Queen said... wait... you told me you never heard this one before... why are you walking away?
Discussing things ad nauseum? i hate to say it, but the only way to find flaws in an arguement is go over it again from different angles (perhaps what Storm was getting at)...
i think the only problem that remains at that point is when people dont want to admit that they might be wrong... and on a small note i just typed "right" and changed it quickly to "wrong"... i wonder what that means? ...
i will most probably never amount to another Sartre, Decartes, or heaven forbid another Kant... but that doesnt mean im going to stop just becasue someone wants to fit me in the "artist intellectual" archetype and point and laugh to try and make me insecure another small note: the previous paragraph has nothing to do with this conversation, just my own public battles IRL and IMyMind ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. By the way, which IS worse, 'knowing that you could be right'? or 'knowing that you could be wrong'?

P.S. I made up the word Symbiotical Photo-nuclear Mitosis - Bitchin' word, though, ain't it? The probability of someone watching you is directly proportional to the stupidity of your actions To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I am a skeptic. I don't believe unless it can be proven, however, my scope of belief is religious, so what I am willing to believe extends past what most people would believe in.
There is the test of time that shows that social order as whole work, even though it may need fine-tuning. Dramatic change or cynicism is against my belief. Totally going against standards is too much. It often takes a lot of effort to change standards a little so I respect the people who go all out.
As far as religion goes, I believe that Christians have been planting evidence for scientists to uncover for several years. I have read the most recent translations of the Old Testament. It was translated directly from Hebrew to English. For anyone who wants to know it is called the, "Holy Scriptures." In Hebrew it is called, "Tanahk." It has everything from seven stages of the planet’s development, instead of, seven days. Revelations is also supported, because as luck would have it, a huge comet already hit us. These are all things that modern science uncovers, however, how would someone know that back then. There is just no way.
That clears it up. I would speculate that aliens could be real, but I need more proof.

mine will sound dumb to you and I don't even know if this is what you are hunting after.
There really is no good, If you feel good, that's just a feeling cause while you feel good people die, so my philosophy of everything is.....Everything is bad and only gets worse..in example: Life is a punishment Reincarnation is torture.

Hmm... moral philosophy... I really enjoyed the discussion of Aristotle's morality ideas; excess and abstinence are equally bad; an equilibrium is best.
i.e. Anger - One, it wouldn't be good to get TOO angry; if someone were to say, step on your toe, that isn't grounds to slowly torture them to death.
If an adult were to walk up and start punching your 5 year old child, and you just stood there and watched, and didn't retaliate, that is equally bad. Bismarck once said "Fools say they like to learn from their experiences, but I prefer to learn from the experience of others."
"Move that one of your pieces, which is in the worst plight, unless you can satisfy yourself that you can derive immediate advantage by an attack." -Adolph Anderssen To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. -- Ayn Rand summarized her philosophy in "The Objectivist Newsletter" in 1962:
| How can you even think of having a persons philosophy? We are all so imperfect and the philosophers are no immortal gods.I think words can not express ideas the way they were really figured out.Yes,its OK to read it and you are influenced by it but it cant have the very same meaning and wont express the very same idea as it should be.Thats why this world is so depressive, confusing. We dont understand each other eventhough we are not voiceless. Sorry, if I misunderstood this, but were you saying one shouldn't agree with someone's philosophies because we are so imperfect that no matter what we think we're wrong?
That's not a philosphy, I think that's just pesimism. The probability of someone watching you is directly proportional to the stupidity of your actions To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

hello rogue!
my philosophy on life...make yourself happy...once you are able to be happy with who and what you are...accept your darker aspects as strengths and your more acceptable aspects as balance points...however reverting to the "philosophical way" emperical idealist all the way! with a touch of hedonism for variety...oh wait...empircists are suppose to be a bit hedonistic...aren't they?
