i have a B.A. in philosophy................anyway, the psychology of it? uh, well when concerning philosophy of the mind, there's some....but the psychology aspect of it really only comes into play for behavorism and some genres of dualism..........essentially though, when concerning the mind, psychology is a scientific fact......but there are some philosophers out there who justify the mind has no connection to the body (specifically the brain)........

I don't actually see how you can have philosophy without constantly being aware of the psychology of the person presenting an aspect of such. Then again, we so often seperate all the aspects that we fail to observe the correlations in the big picture. I find this the most frustrating.

What makes you happy? ...something you did? or something done to you?

The glass is half capacity for me, never choosing any one side. Happiness can be achieved through becoming content with what you have. To become content, should one must realize that they may have nothing else than what has been repeatedly dealt to them, and will so for the rest of thier lives? If so, happiness is acceptance, and this places true happiness in the darkest of lights.

I belive happiness is dervied from the mind and the soul what ever keeps you \at a natural high level or whatever brings you to your lowest of lows

People are happy when..
-they want to be happy
-they don't know any better (ie they don't know what they're missing)
-the do know what they're missing, but they have a naturally sunny disposition and don't care.
-they're high on drugs

to quote David Hume,
"He is happy whom circumstances suit his temper; but he is more excellent who suits his temper to any circumstance."

and then there are some factors that can influence people's view on life, like the amount of seratonin in their brain, and the like.

I haven't been "happy" in years......almost have forgotten what that's like. I have been content ( satisfied with what I had and where my life was going).... but I knew that was not a permenant situation..that things/life bring changes and challenges. I tend to let responsibility weight me down, worry and fret over getting things done for myself and those around me cause I know that if I don't do it, it won't get done.
