"What is the purpose of life? Why do we persist? Isn't it strange that the human race continues along a path of technical and medical progress, yet we have no clear goals that all religious groups or nations can agree on?
If you ask Government leaders their priorities they will likely talk about security, health, and prosperity. But these are inevitably translated into physical short-term objectives.
Have you ever heard the word love used when refering to goals by a contemporary government leader or a powerful businessman?
Yet most of the time we are buying things and doing things because of something, even tangentially, to do with Love.
Why has love fallen off of our radar? No wonder War is our number one story."
What do you guys think? It seems that humanity is fumbling toward a goal that no one can agree on, or actually define. Violence increases, pollution continues, but so do advancements. What is the point of it all?
Do any of you have a 'life goal' that sets your path from day to day?
My goal? To do everything I can to make sure that I'm happy (heh, and my girlfriend is happy) every day. To become a musician so my thoughts can be spread throughout the ages as music. To do the best I can with what I have where I am.
Hey, bread is a good time for me...a-woodle-oo-doo, singing bread is a good time for EVERYbody...

Love falls and rises on our radar all the time.Groups of inward focus and outwards ones compete for the attention of the masses all the time.
Humanity maybe a race but it is not a collective, all we seem to want is whats best for our own selves and sometimes that does include the well being of others.
War is a funny thing sometimes but I dont think it is fully seperate from love.Love of money, other gains , bloodshed , honor, your country etc. its all included in there to make the love of your fellow man half a world away less and less of an issue.
I have no goals at all but sure I`d like to be happy somehow, I guess thats enough.
Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.
