Just finished a primer of jungian psychology. whoohoo
Anyway, he included his views on the different assortment of psychological types of people.
There are 8: so he says--Post which one you think applies to you and I'll put more information about it
1)Extraverted Thinking Type
2)Introverted Thinking Type Extraverted Feeling Type
4)Introverted Feeling Type
5)Extraverted Sensation Type
6)Introverted Sensation Type
7)Extraverted Intuitive Type
8)Introverted Intuitive Type
There of course is always a mixture of some or even all of these, pick the one that you would describe yourself.
i didnt try to set up a poll, i dont think i know how, if someone could help with that, thanks

polls are easy...at the bottom of the typed post you'll have your option for attachments and poll...you choose poll it'll thank you for posting and then go to a page allowing you to set up the poll...
i'll go with extroverted intuitive type...i'm not sure about this classification...i've not really read anything by jung, i know who he is from classes however but i tend to be an extrovert and have an intuition...but i'll probably be the introverted thinker

Reminds me of the Spark personality test.
I float between 2 and 8. Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

ok let's see.
These charactersizations seemed a little harsh to me, but it is the extreme cases of a person who is exclusivly that type, and the other functions repressed.
7)Extraverted Intuitive Type
People of this type, commonly women, are characterized by flightiness and instability; they jump from situation to situation to discover new possibilities in the external world. They are always looking for new worlds to conquer before they have conquered the old ones. Because they are deficient in the thinking function, they cannot diligently pursue their intuitions for very long but must jump to new intuitions. Routine activities bore them; novelty ia their life's sustenance. They tend to fritter away their lives on a succession of intuitions. They are not dependable friends, altough they enter into each new relationship with great zest foe the possibilities it holds. As a consequence they unwittingly hurt people by their lack of sustained interest. They take up numerous hobbies but soon get bored with them, and they have diffuculty keeping a job.
2)Introverted Thinking Type
This type is inward-directed in his thinking. He is exemplified by the philosopher or existential psychologist who seeks to understand the reality of his own being. In extreme cases, the result of his explorations may bear little relation to reality. He may eventually break his ties with reality and become schizophrenic. He shares many of the same character with his extraverted counterpart, and for the same reason, namely because he has to protect himself from feelings which have been repressed into the unconscious. He appears to be emotionless and distant because he does not value people. He wants to be left alone to pursue his own thoughts. He is not particulary concerned about having his ideas accepted by others. He is inclined to be stubborn, headstrong, inconsiderate, arrogant, prickly, unapproachable, and standoffish. With the intensification of the type, and thinking becomes more subject to abnormal and quixotic influences from the repressed feeling function.

4 or 8 I think A golden energy
Was rising out of my head
I shed my evil skin
And found myself again I was wrong, I don't mind
The impossible seems possible
This time I'm an electric wire
If the sun can radiate then so can I

it says if someone is extraverted or introverted in his conscious life, the person is likely to be the opposite in his sub/unconscious or dream life. an example is when an extraverted becomes moody or unsocial, friends say "whats with him", his unconscoius introverted side is seeping out in sorts. The basic typology consists of two attitudes, extraversion and introversion, and four functions, thinking feeling, sensation, and intuition, making eight types of characters in all. Variations in the degree to which each of the attitudes and functions are consciously developed or remain unconscious and undeveloped can produce a wide range of differences amoung individuals.
This reminds me of a childhood game for some reason

I'm thoroughly ashamed of you guys, back when this board was part of R&P you guys would have spotted the obvious oxymoron in the title of this thread way before now.
How can you sit there with that smug grin on your face knowing that something as simple as this has slipped by you?
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Go to your room!
How can you have a classified Type of Individual? it's like trying to classify different types of Mona Lisa...

snore- - well the basis of this is only to OFFER a system for characterizing the significant ways in which people differ from one another. The attitudes and functions are in every personality, but they are there in different proportions and at different levels of consciousness. Some are more individuated than others. It is, above all, a system a system for describing individual differences, and definitely not a system for reducing every person to a couple of eight fixed types.
I can, being a devoted student of leonardo, argue about the classification of different "types" of the mona lisa, whatever your meaning is by it.

Myers Briggs personality typing. This is really cool stuff. Have done this a couple of years ago I finally discovered why I am so totally twisted. Introvert, Intuitive, Feeling, Preceiving... That P thing is what Myers and Briggs added to Jungs stuff. How did I get on this bus?!?
Sure it's great fun until someone loses a liver!
