I wouldn't say I have any personal philosophy and I have no religious beliefs, but there are a few things I've picked up along the way. Here are the two rules of life I have encountered thus far. Maybe I'll take them back or modify them later, but for now they seem accurate.
1. Serious things are usually, if not always, bad. Beware serious people as they often lack a sense of humor and are not fun. Life taken unseriously is worth living, life taken seriously is very painful. Take your time, lay back and enjoy life. If you can take evrything seriously you make yourself and everyone around you miserable and still die in the end.
2. Everything is funny in some aspect, regard, or light. Death is funny, life is funny, tragedy is funny, jokes are funny. Everything is funny somehow. It is often thought that humor and joy go hand in hand. this is not true as many horrible things are funny but not in a happy sort of way. My funeral will be funny, yours will be, too.

I like those theories...I also live for happiness and pleasure...those to me are also important aspects to living...and you need imagination to wrap it all up to a reality

hey wait a second......uh, this thread started with rule 1: life taken seriously is painful; rule 2: everything is funny......
doesn't this thereby imply that rule 1 is wrong sense seriousness is therefore funny?
and in defense of seriousness, where is the theory that life taken serious is painful? i mean, some people take life very seriously and live happy lives, just because they do not relax as much does not mean they lack happiness......what they lack is the happiness relaxed people encompass, whereas relaxed people lack the happiness serious people encompass

Its would be more the seriousness of others that is funny rather than of yourself, since you can not fully take things seriously and humoursly at the same time.
