One of my big reasons for leaving the Catholic church was this sort of We're right your wrong and we will not enterain that you have any merit in any of your arguments because we don't want to listen to reasoned debate nor will we ever listen to reaonsed debate.

Humanism forces us to listen to debate because how do we know the other side of the story. Usually we come to the same brick walls of blind Zeal, but that is simply the way I find it

My Wife is Catholic..... I have no qualms with that at all... we live in harmony with each other..... she is not a practicing one.... but she believes in the existence of God.... though I understand exactly where you are coming from.... I have met many a brick wall here when attempting to get some people here to see the other side.... or logic persay..... sometimes I attempt to use theology also.... such as the whole Graven Image debate.... but the conversation usually gets sidetracked.... for reasons that they cannot deny that one of thier own Commandments tells them to not worship or make any graven images and yet walk into any Church and you are walking into a Graven Image itself.... along with the many images within the Church itself.... crosses... stained glass windows with images upon them.... etc..... etc...

That is how serious God is about sin.
He was looking to future generations, and sin has an impact on them.
Everyone dies, and it is a biblical principle that sin will shorten it.
Even if it only means spiritual death.

Now that law isn't something I have studied, so I don't know all of the implications of it. Who is to do it, what sins, what age and so on.
Now the death penulty has been in this country, almost its entire length, so I imagine it is still bible based to this day.

As for the Death penalty.... it is not based on the bible at all.... it is based on Judicial proceedings and the crime that was committed......
