i have noticed in the united states most of us are controlled by out clocks, whereas, europeans are more easily going and flexible. i live on my watch. i always find it important to be prompt but get annoyed when others don't do the same. and why is it always when we make an appointment at the doctors or dentists that it takes much later for us to be taken care of. do doctors and dentists not find our time as valuable? i think this is because most often these significant individuals of our society tend to overbook themselves. is there anyone who has yet to find a doctor or dentist who actually makes it for their 40 pm appointment?
i have noticed also that we spend more time being in the waiting room rather than in the doctor's or dentist's office.
what is time to you? does it effect your behavior in anyway? which place would suit your lifestyle better the united states or europe?
I am something of a time-nut myself. There is nothing that irritates me as much as people who are late, slow, or procrastinators. I like to be at least 10 to 15 minutes early for any sort of appointment or meeting. As far as doctors and such go, I have no idea. I have been in a doctor's office completely void of patients other than myself. I knew that no one was already back with the doctor because I was the first name on the sign-in sheet. It was the early afternoon, so it wasn't like she (the doctor) needed time to set up or anything. She'd been there since morning. Despite all this, I was still taken ten minutes after my appointment. By the way, I like your avatar.
fuck time, that's what i say....i don't care if i am ten minutes late, or if it takes a doctor ten more minutes to see me.....i usually am fine wherever i am, usually when i wat for a doctor i like to look at other people and imagine their lives, or imagine what i could do to their lives, and i like to create ideas for stories and poems and such......however, that is not to say that i do not get angry when a friend of mine is 30 minutes to an hour late picking me up, or traffic is taking twice as long as it normally should......but for the most part, i have no concept of time ever......

I am very punctual, however I am very patient so waiting doesn't usually bother me. I don't wear a watch. I often like to try and guess the time by the sun and season. I often think, people who believe themselves to be in powerful positions (Dr's,etc) do consider their time more valuable then others, however they can never judge how long a consultation may last, I don't like getting fobbed or hurried and hastled by a Dr because he/she is running late.
I'm proud and grateful to be an Aussie (Australian) we are all pretty laid-back.

Self loves useing time..
Why when one uses time properly many things may be done .
Self uses time to put pressure on self ,cause its like ,self will do the dishes or self will do the dishes in 10 min!

Alone together. It was all two people could ever be to each other, Alone. Together. For the dreams and secrets of our hearts may be spoken, but words are poor handmaidens. Wordes can never fully say what we want them to say, for they fumble, stammer, and break the best porcelain. The best one can hope for is to find along the way someone to share the path, content to walk in silence, for the heart communes best when it does not try to speak... from the book "Dragons of a Lost Star

In the movie Ridicule, there is a quote that says, "Patience is the first sign of Nobility." I have found that the only reason I make myself to do anything is because of time constraints. You have to be at work at 6 or else you're fired. You have to have this paper in on the 21st or else you're punished. If I had a choice, I'd do nothing but lazy about in some kind of "fuck you" to the constraints of time. It as Errant says "Merely a way to check our own productivity." In a sense, it once again is one of the definitions of our own existence in a purely moralistically corrupted sense. We do not have to be productive in any capacity to have a fulfilled life. Cultural definitions of time make it so.

No man loves work naturally.
It's always just another day..just another dollar.
doesn't say that I'm not aware of what time it is or that I'm deliberately late for appointments (which doesn't happen all that much anyway)..it's just that when you do wear a watch it's seems that you're rushing too much..constantly looking at that little display. And that to me is an unhealthy lifestyle..
I don't have a watch, but I do have an alarm in the mornings so I actually get up for work, apart from that I don't really use the time. Except for trains, I check the time so I meet the right one or I get the right one.

I'm not really the unhealthy watch-watcher, even though I find time important. I do wear a watch, but typically I go by how I feel. My biological clock is pretty accurate, I'm very good at judging how much time has passed. I don't feel that I have to be productive for cultural reasons, however. I'm happy being as productive as possible, it gives me a good feeling. I can feel quite disenchanted and depressed by lack of activity. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy a good laze every once in a while, though
