and it isn't really tabbo if you were to date your cousin if you are not blood related, but there is a family aspect to be taken into consideration.....but if you claim that he loves you, and can vouch his love for you, and if in turn you vouched this love, you are considering being with him, in which case i would advise you to perhaps try dating him.....but if you say you are in love with someone else, well i hope your love is vouched for and that it may be true.....

as for myself, i promote incestual relationships if love is indeed true among the partners, but true love is so difficult to find that if it is indeed found, i suggests everyone understands the true meaning of love without characterizing it with aspects of lust....

honestly, i think the siblings would need to work out their issues or meet some other people. grill me, but i don't believe love is true between them. i believe that they have some problems with their heads and should seek therapy rather than each other.

i didn't even consider the idea of children as an option and was rather suprised when i read on to see that was the first thing people commented on. in my head, sex would be performed, but definately no children. poor kids "yeah, my dad is also my uncle and my mum is my auntie too. cool huh?" keeping it in the family is something that i have no first hand experience/witness of. perhaps americans are more open to this than i am?

as for that distant but non related cousin issue, i have no problems morally with that, but i do with the boyfriend thing.

well, not concerning humans, what about animals....some animals are incestual, and look at how they thrive.....i think it is merely taboo because of the whole genteic thing, but this can be avoided.....definitions of gross is entirely in the eye of the beholder....

ok......well, they say if you take a pregnant cat, and place it in a room with a constant supply of food, the kittens themselves will mate and produce offspring that is not "mentally deficent"....but that may be because lower class animals do not have the mental capacity a human does......

now look at the repercussions of wedding within the family has given to the european royals... hemophilia, anemia, etc.

yes, i will grant you that there are reprecussions, but only if child bearing presents itself......also, let us assume this perspective, you're speaking of generations, are you thereby presuming that if two siblings procreated and had two offsprings, that their offsprings would also procreate, and so on?

now, i am no genetic expert, but is it proven that if two siblings procreate that their offspring will automatically be deformed in some manner? or is it merely a chance ordeal that their offspring will be deformed in some manner much like the chance off any child born? if the latter is the case, then why continue to outlaw sibling love? although i will grant you that their might exist a higher chance of their offspring being deformed, but we do not outlaw smokers who are pregnant, nor alcoholics who are pregnant, we merely advise them not to do it.....so why not justify sibling love, but advise them not to have children, but if they choose to do so in a free country, then their choice is ultimately up to them.

also, as i suggested earlier, what if one of the siblings was sterile, then should it still be outlawed for them to be marry? if not, then would it be objectionable to allow them adoption rights?

we outlaw incest for a number of reasons... i prefer to fall back on the genetic reasonings (and no, there is no guarantee that an incestuous infant will be damaged, but the odds go up substantially for abberations)...

another reason for the illegality of incest deals with the undue amount of influence that family members can exert on the younger offspring or siblings. a father who molests his daughter holds a position of authority over her (remind you of the sexual harrasment laws)... a similar situation can occur between and older sibling and and a younger...
