I think this theory of mine is more of a philosophy based off of the seven deadly sins, and as the sins aren't mentioned in the bible...they are kind of a free for all....


first come Pride...for only people who have a healthy dose of pride in themselves can really attract peopleyou find that person and you Lust for them...you than become hungry for that person...almost Gluttonous in want...not dealing strictly with food, you can never really get enough of the person...after time of involvlement you become Sloth like, complacent in the fact they are yours...then you become Greedy...as that person becomes more...necessary for you...you become envious of any people, no matter how insignificant or they are to the person you adore...as the newness of the relationship wears off and other's become more...prevailant in their relationships...Wrath rears it's ugly head!

I imagine this can apply to more than just relationships...it's just one of those that spurred this...concept of mine

Did this spur of the moment theory of yours happen to come from a personal relationship in your life presently? Kind of sounds like you're trying to analyze you're actions, or the actions of someone close to you, trying to figure out what goes on in their or your head, and everyone elses at the same time. You make a VERY valid point, I think everyone would know what you're talking about, I certainly do.

I think sin stems from ignorance. Not knowing or understanding the ramifications of your actions. Racial hatred and the like, are a result of ignorance. People fear things they do not understand. Unfortunately, some people would prefer to remain ignorant, rather than make the effort to make an informed decision. Hence stereotypes.

Greed and jealousy come from ignorance. Greed from a lack of understanding, that more does not equal more happy. Jealousy is not knowing. Trusting people is hard. It makes you vulnerable.

Now this, ties in VERY nicely with my post in the "Meaning of life" thread. ~nods~ The soul's ignorance... and that leading to the learning of that particular lesson to carry on into the next life etc. Water is so much better with words than me. LoL

Desire is a want for something, whatever that maybe.
Lust is a want for sex alone.

I would agree that you definately have a point. I think that desire can lead to these though as well, I think that was the general conclusion to be drawn from the last few posts.

Desire equals jealousy inevitable, however subtle that jealousy is. When you desire something, it's usually because someone or someting else has it. Whether that be a corporate department store chain or your neighbor, it all comes down to the same thing. A lot of what we want we'll never have, so jealousy is always going to be a part of life. Okay, I went off on a tangent... I think.

Sinistress, yeah trusting people makes you vulnerable, but it also makes you human. you can't really live unless you give some of yourself to someone else, but this belongs in a different thread I think.
