I suppose philsophy would be the most appropriate place on the forum for this...

What does the phrase "Seize the day" mean to you? People seem to say it a lot, and I guess the most simple explaination boils down to making the absolute most of a day as best and as long as you can...but individually, people see everything a little differently based upon their own experiences. So what do you think?

carpe diem eh? i guess it means, don't let your life waste away

so ingrained with the disappointments of my life, Carpe Diem is more of a random plunge at odd moments in time for me...

perhaps an after the fact excuse for normally out of character behavior...

I wish I could seize the day.There is so much beauty in the everyday world.Sometimes I see it,and sometimes Im not on that plane.Most of the time, Its my own selfishness that is keeping me from seeing it.I want to, I do,but I dont know whats holding me back.

It is personal in it's vagueness. Seize the day means the same to everyone I would expect; make the most of it, but how one does this is personal. For me, seizing the day means being more involved in what's happening around me. Being more aware of others and helping where I can, taking notice of ordinary things I see everyday and finding new wonder in them, making a positive difference. Not putting anything off. Finding time to meditate. Embracing the fact that whatever happens is MY LIFE and making the best of situations I have created.....and learning something new from unexpected sources.
