You are thinking of the universe in far to human centered terms to appreciate what I'm saying. This excess non-universal matter comes from the constant big bangs that are going on all over the place. Not all the matter in the big bang's ejection is used in a universe. Some of it is thrown so far out that it can't coalesce into a universe and floats in the space between universes until it coalesces into another cosmic receptacle.

considering what a conventional alchemist is: they wanted gold to come from various types of metal, but didn't know how to do it.
Gold could come from other metals i'd imagine, but Gold always was what it was and is, it's just the arrangements of it's elemental structure that are created.

To the topic. By blasting pure metals with radioactive frequencies, Surreal, it is possible to litterally turn lead into gold without all that mixing and compounding and so on. The problem is, its so expensive and so difficult* to do, that its not cost effective.

* - The metal must be absolutely pure, if there is even -one- molecule that is not pure the process will fail. The equipment must be aligned exactly right, and if the radioactivity is wrong by even one varience for even one second, the process will fail.
