Is the limited reproductive capability of women responsible for men more often cheating than women?
Common among sheep and higher species(man included) is the "coolidge effect" inspired by a story about president coolidge and his wife touring a chicken farm...his wife asked the farmer if it was true that one rooster could handle the sexual needs of an entire flock of hens, he replied it was. mrs. coolidge pointed that out to president coolidge. At that point president coolidge than inquired about it being a different hen each time...when the farmer said yes, he was sure to point that out to mrs. coolidge.
This inspired the theory that it is an adaptive advantage especially among species with a limited reproductive cycle to "spread the wealth". the coolidge effect could suggest that a man will be more more sexually responsive if he has a variety of sexual partners than limiting himself to one. This effect is noticed among higher species more than lower species, including man which sex is not ruled by a females "heat" stage.
This makes sense in my opinion except the fact that it suggests prefrence would not be an issue(we all know how picky people can be)...so what inspires prefrence in the human species, is it physical or mental, and why are we so darn picky about our sexual partners(well most people)? well i think its that easy... with courtly love evolved into the idea of romantic love... romantic love is paired down to possesion...
example... i control myself... i have power... i control you... i have that much more power... power god... sex to subjugate. ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

when their existence becomes dependent upon the other to the point of voluntarily surrendering control... ex. abusive relationships... men (and some women) physically, mentally, or emotionally abuse their mate to the point of utter subjugation. ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. so is that where the possessive aspect comes into play...yet they do love them..even while they are putting them through hell...how can people hurt someone they love at that level? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

So that's not a good question...a better reply would be...why...ummm...i'm sure there is some natural phenomena that is unexplainable...ahhh...why do vortexes pull trees inward?
however in the case of domestic violence there are almost always something in their life that can register why they've come to equate love with violence...
but hey, hormones rule our reactions...i think some people just need to learn how to control their hormones
So why would men who have several females to choose from be more sexually responsive than men who are stuck in a monogamous relationship(i know the reason why i am, but i'm not a male) To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

The sky is blue because it difracts light in the blue regions of the spetrum whilst other colours pass straight through. Certain atmospheric conditions can also cause the sky to diffract slightly different colours, resulting in a whole range of sky colours

well my theory is not to condone cheating, but to justify open relationships as being a feasable and reasonable expectation, that it's scientifically "normal" for higher species to seek out several different partners rather than the monogamous relationships that few creatures, even the lower based lifeforms practice. It was just a bonus to find out that the "coolidge effect" can influence sexual responsiveness...that's always a nice bonus in partner type relationships. i think you are failing to consider the stress effects of trying to please mulitple partners in ANY open situation. ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

but is the stress you are theorizing a factor? if anything i find it makes a partner more energetic when pleasing their partner, the coolidge effect did suggest that males would be more receptive, an increase sexual drive to keep up with "his flock" Why should people be any different, i've easily pleased an extramarital partner, and then later that evening my husband...he found himself more aggressive and aroused by the fact that he could smell another man on me...where as i tend to be aloof and request he take a shower when he's had his night of extramarital entertainment...there's no stress, but rather a comforting "nobody does it like you" attitude but we both do react differently, i haven't decided yet if it's a physical(animalistic nature) or mental(my hang up about body fluids) situation...there's so much more in my opinion to love, sex, and the animal need, that is why i decided to look at this from a scientific view rather than society based taboos.
*besides it gives me a chance to flex my gray matter To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Besides it's nice to have scientific reasoning confirming this is a good lifestyle for me to embark on...

I also dont buy any urge to cheat or sex in general as a reproductive one. Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.
