I'm so sick of the whole racism crap. Racism is a word to cover a multitude of ignorance. A blanket for the lazy who can't be bothered learning about which individuals really earn our distain. There is intolerance and ignorance in all people. There are only people, a world of people. Some have different cultural beliefs that unless you are versed in such can seem alien and therefore fearful.

I wish I could remember where I stuck my rant about how we fear the unfamilier which leads to hate etc..Yoda had it right even if his syntax was shoddy.

It may just be genuine courtesy.

Reverse racism is simply a reaction to things a person has experienced through life, that have inevitably left an impression. I hate no one because of their race. I dislike them because of their ignorance or other trait that I find hard to deal with.

I really don't think the term reverse racism is a valid one though. Several people have said that racism is racism, and I have to agree. There is no justification in disliking someone due to their heritage. I don't care if you have been beaten by 10 Chinese men for an hour. That still does not warrant an immediate negative reaction toward every Chinese man you encounter in the future.

If everyone was 'justified' in killing people who have killed others, there would be no one left. That's the best analogy I can think of to explain my thoughts on this one...

There are people who disliked me because they thought I was spitefully opening doors and pretentiosly being polite..Isn't that just great.

I think the problem in a lot of places towards people of northern european extraction isn't something you can call racism. people are just scared of white supremacy, and so don't like people saying 'yes, I'm white, and I'm proud of it'.

It's one thing I've really noticed while I've been with my boyfriend (who's chinese). If I say that I'm proud of my family history I'm eurocentric, but he's REALLY proud of his chinese history and stuff, and no one would ever call him cenocentric. It just seems really unfair.

A lot of the Asatru and heathen groups around get accused of promoting racism and white supremacy, when all they're really doing is saying "the europeans had a rich and interesting culture".
It's frustrating.

Celebrating your heritage is great, but not flaunting it.

Why catergorize yourself into groups by color of skin? Those who are "Black" do not all have the same heritgae and nationalities. Same goes for "Whites."

I can understand having pride for you ethenticity(sp?). Wave around your "I'm proud to be Polish!" or "I'm proud to be Jamaican" or "I'm proud to be half Mexican and half German"..because your claiming a heritage, be proud of your ancestors. But when you only claim the color of your skin..then it's just silly. I should run around witha sign that says.."I'm proud to be a Medium Tan!"

well, how many balcks were allowed to keep their heritage under the bonds of slavery? no, it was all mixed and merged and from their assimilation into american society, old traditions have evolved into great forms of art... example... Jazz
