People who are serious about taking their lives rarely tell anybody. You never know what words you might say that can give a person insight or hope, nor can you know when the window of opportunity opens for them to be receptive. I could never give up on them. If worst came to worst and they did end their lives, not only do I believe they'd have to come back and do it all again anyway, but that I had tried all I could to help them, sad but no guilt. I believe we DO have some responsibility to the souls in our lives and how we deal with it is reflected on our soul. Karma, I suppose.

it simple and i see a few agree, if a person wants to die than why interfere with their choice? If they are some person who gets off on misery and pain such as people who enjoy hospitals for such activities than they are a sick person that would need help...but you can only save people who want to be saved.

But until their actual demise who are we to judge whether they can ever see things differently? So many people today, especially young males, feel disconnected from others, useless, unloved, or nothing at all, if they know no different they see no choice on how they look at life. Sure, there are some who will eventually choose the the less painful path, but life is like 'running the gautlet', you have to survive the blows to feel the elation and strength of making it through. I have the deepest respect for people who have lived through their darkest moments and survived. There is no darker place then feeling nothing.

I think if some suicidals learn to use their rough, tragic, or just unfortunate experiences into a feeling of accomplishment from overcoming those problems will give them some actually reassurance to life.

I think people who involve pain into their lives as a reason to exist really give a fuck off to life's suffering. They last longer. They are like Buddists, the difference being their retreat.

I kind of agree, looking at it from a distance. but for a single human life, i think most people would agree it is happiness. and what is happiness but the ability to practice appreciation or love.

Do you guys think if more people looked at everything in the big picture their would be more people in the medical community, more studing sciences about evolution, astronomy..ect I'm an artist so i don't really have right to judge but it makes some sense doesn't it?

And, it depends on the big picture you're looking at. In my big picture I see more people doing volunteer work and helping others without the mighty dollar being god, and much more of course. Your judgement is as relevant as anybodies. Da Vinci was an artist. Visionaries.

actually... this whole question about what is it we live for... how can we answer that if we live to find out ourselves... and well, so if we live to be sumone (or just to be) then... then shouldnt we ask ourselves whether or not we are SMART! enough to understand what we live for???
