having recently found my sister's arms slashed to bits, (she's now going to therapy) I have one thing to say about suicide:
If it's someone you love, more than anything in the world, you'll do anything to save them, and make them know that love. If it's someone you don't know, then how can you possibly judge the value of their life? How can you know if it IS bad enough to end. Don't judge blindly. They might not know the love that my sister has... to not know love is to be half dead... I don't know where I'm going with this... I'll go back into my box now.

i tend to be a bit harsh with suicidal people...they either want help or don't, i'm more than willing to do what i can to help those who want it and have, however there are those that have a romanticized view or determined to die that will die, no amount of help, talk or empathy will help them and then sadly a majority of them are just seeking attention...it's sad because the latter group outweigh the serious turmoil of those who really have no other way to get out without help.

yeah......if you want to commit suicide, then fucking do it! don't fucking parade around with scars......

would you rather my mother and I let my sister die on the kitchen floor? would you rather I judge you blindly by taking your words and assuming you're a heartless sonofabitch? It would be biased and unfair, but blindly judged nonetheless.

true true, there are far more people claiming despair for reasons unworthy of death, but for those that DO feel on the end of their rope... they just need to open their eyes. Those that lie for attention have their eyes open wide, for they SEE the love, and they crave it and thrive off of it. Those who are on the edge of death because they don't see love, whether from family, friends or lovers, need to be shown that love.

actually i said "rational EMPATHY"... which infers exlcusion of everything else... we arent supposed to judge by our feelings even IF they're reasoned out. we're supposed to judge by the facts. THAT is why the justice statue is blind and why we should judge blindly ourselves... so long as we do not actively affect our will on a person, judge away...

ok, this interests me in that both have good views and reasoning. one rational and the other emotional, each seeing the other as something that is terrible (in view). but answer me this, what if someone you love looks you in the eyes and says that it is their time. that they would rather not live. they don't want counseling or the mind altering drugs. they know you love them and they love you, but feel their time has passed. do you still try to "save" them against their will?

has she actually tried killing herself, or is it just self mutilation...the two can be related but self mutilation does not necessarily mean a person is suicidal, just ill equipped to deal with overwhelming emotions like anger, hurt, and even love. If a person wants to die, they will. If a "suicide" is orchestrated for discovery, than the person is trying to get attention for something.

why does your sister feel that the only way she can be heard is with a razor to her flesh? Often times it's when people feel powerless...that they take extreme measures.

it is my opinion that if a person it meant to die, they will. If you try to prolong an unnecessary life than it's meddling with a greater power and can bring consequences. Not to mention leaving the persons soul trapped in a void of existance, not able to pass on and not able to stay in their body.

What I was talking about when I reverences instincts instilled by evolution, was that humans, as well as all life are a product of chemistry physics and chance.

We are here because millions of years ago a molecule began to replicate it's self. Fast forward to the present, the double helix has information stored onto it to make a brain. This brain has instincts, one is self preservation, the other is procreation. Because this double helix made the brain that way, it is given the oppertunity to replicate further, and mix with others.

Those last two paragraphs was what I thought I didn't need to say.

When someone chose ti live their lives a certain way some call Will to Life, when it really is Will to power. Everything in nature has this will. Your satisfaction in completing a worth while activity is an example.

"Procreation"—only derivative; originally: where one will was not enough to organize the entire appropriated material, there came into force an opposing will which took in hand the separation; a new center of organization, after a struggle with the original will.

"Pleasure"—as a feeling of power (presupposing displeasure).

What is a pleasure but: an excitation of the feeling of power by an obstacle (even more strongly by rhythmic obstacles and resistances)—so it swells up. Thus all pleasure includes pain.— If the pleasure is to be very great, the pains must be very protracted and the tension of the bow tremendous. There is a lot more to it, but it follows your theory of instincts, self prev. and procreation.
