Reality and Truth
PhilosophyDiscuss Reality and Truth in the Debate and Discussion forums; Reality is something you believe to be true. So what is truth?
*lets hope people jump on this train of thought*...
What exactly is truth realtive to? The individual? How can one be sure of truth if one cannot even be sure that what one sees is real? If we cannot percieve something, is it real? What if nothing is as it appears? Does that make reality false? Would it then be a illusion? Are we as humans even able to perceive truth?
The last obstacle to God is the concept of God itself.

My eyes are firey blades cutting through darkness, exposing the truths hidden within.
Reality is something that happened. Truth is the interpretation of reality. When telling the truth, it is relaying their interpretation, the best they can. Lying is purposely distorting the truth for an alternative benefit.
truth is that of logical justification......and truth is that of what we can comprehend.....their is a truth, yet we have just minute grasp of it in the totality of things......
absolute truth is a term referring to what actually is. what we percieve to be true or real (the words are synonyms) is an interpretation of absolute truth. during the process of interpretation, absolute truth is distorted. thus, truth and reality are illusions of human perception.
The only truth there is in life, is the certainty of death...we will all die; it's the only thing that a living creature MUST do. We do not have to eat, breathe, get jobs or reproduce. But we have to die.
Everything else is flexible.
Life is to be measured by action, not by time...the largest space of time is to live until a man is wise. He that dies of old age does no more than go to bed when he is weary...it is the work of fate to make us live long, but it is the business of virtue to make a short life sufficient.
-Seneca

Can you prove without any shadow of a doubt that I am going to die?
Life is pain. Thank god for morphine. quidquid latine dictum sit altum viditur
