But what is the proof of existance if one was to deprive all the senses? Reality is just perception and we are (in our everyday state) inable to acurately percieve how things really are.

Ponder this. When a bay is born its spinal cord is not yet completely connected. When the nerve endings connect, a message is carried to the brain via the nerves, telling the baby for instance what it sees. If the child can see noises the brain will disconnect the nerve ending and reattach the "correct" one. Through trial and error the brain developes the most accurate view of the world. What is it that causes our brains to make these "corrections"? Are they really correct? Or is it that we haven't the capacity to percieve truth?

What 'truth' do we really need to know? Will we die from not knowing it? Does it complete us if we know what it is? If we did know it would it make any difference? Did we create the enigma to give us a reason to use our brains?

Reality is the physical reaction to a personal perspective that we rarely know. Instance: 6 million killed in the holocaust (physical reality) Why? (Hitler's 'truth' that you will never know and he probably wasn't sure of himself, you can only speculate).

We get wrapped up in others truths and make them our reality.

Errm, just some thoughts, sorry if I ranted.

Well, there are billions of people alive right now. Some may defy dying. However, the googles that already have, leave a large margin to over-come.

Don't forget that Hitler convince a nation of otherwise rational people to participate in the act too.

how far are you willing to trust information that is handed to you?

it's a proven fact that those men lived. there are birth records, death records, audio and video recordings, documents, real life encounters... etc. unless you're trying to get into the, "do WE really exist?" conversation...

proven to what extent? ...to what burden?

we're so used to believing what we are told about the world that we are willing to except anything if its given to us in the standard way...

no im not trying to do the "exist" convo... im trying to underscore the value of finding things out for oneself...

i cannot prove to you that hitler existed, nor you for that matter, but i can prove that i exist, and yes through that cliched little term cogito ergo sum......that point is, the only truth i have, even if i have no senses, is that i, and i alone, exist, in some form......

Do we become our truths? Truths seem to be somewhat restrictive when we make them so.

it doesn't matter, if you think, therefore i am, then i am you, and if i think i exist, then it is you thinking you exist, and proving that you exist, hence proving that i exist......even if i am metaphysical in nature....
