Oh no, I'm ok that way (Hence the fascination that psychologists and psychiatrists have with me ) I have a strict code of ethics from my father, his father was the same as me (but with no ethics, he did, however have two world wars in his time to deal with his "problem" )so my Dad knew what I should do and not do.
There's a pretty high chance of my kids being the same, it's neurological and genetic.
I am an "emotionally stable sociopath"
In short, I wouldn't regret killing someone but it would take a lot to make me cross the line in the first place.
I view society as a whole and therefore I see problems that will affect society as a whole much more easilly than others whose minds are clouded with thoughts of "how will this affect individuals", I think I'd make a good dictator
I try to be empathic, not sociopathic. I can see how not caring about random people makes life easier, but if you don't life seems brighter on the good days and abyssimal on dthe bad.
Have you not learned from the corpses of your bretheren?
Fero, I never said you were, your perspective seems to be that you percieve the mob, and Jordyn's, Active individualism with huge barriers, leaving a person alone... That's what I find scary.
BOO! so what is a good balance than my dear necro, and why should it be scary that i believe a person should know themselves before being able to completely knowing another?

Jordyn, I am not sure I can explain why I find it scary. Or good balance... How about percieving that the mob is made up of individuals, and all individuals are part of the mob...
Cater to the whole, as you cater to the individual?....
Ok, I can now explain what scares me about your point of views...
Fero, said 'I have the completely opposite view in this regard, I don't view other people (except for a close few) at all.
I place no more value on a person as on a chair, they are meerly objects that are around me (obviously more complex than a chair but you get the point)'
And Jordyn said 'The first step before a person can be complete, and successfully merge with others they need to know themselves, accept their darker aspects and protect themselves from the world'
It's these two perspectives that bother me, Fero, can see easily the whole, and the reactions an individual causes to the whole, be it pain like riots, or joy like, feelings of brotherhood, but he percieves it as a mob, because he discounts the individual as a person, rape on a singular level he is aware of but cares nothing about except how it relates to the bigger group.
Whereas your persepective Jordyn, Preaches not to care about anything outside your private world, place barriers up around yourself, block out the world, yes your friends being hurt or made happy would affect you on an individual level, but you would hardly be aware, or really care of whether your actions had wider ramifications to the whole for good or for ill...
So what actually bothers me is the fact that Fero can discount what makes up the whole as worthless, and Jordyn you seem discount the effect you have on the world indirectly as not important.
I don't discount what makes up the whole as worthless, I just value it differently, I just don't add emotional value to building blocks
I do value individuals but only those of value to me (did that come out right?)
I mean actual, first person value.
I do view people as individuals but it's more like taking something out of a bag and looking at it then replacing it in the bag.
Whan they are in my direct perception they are individual but when thay go back in the bag it's a bag of people rather than tom, jim, mary blah blah ..in a bag.
It's more that I apply emotional value to people in my direct perception and remove it when they leave.
But the Building blocks are of importance, a good foundation, will always benefit the whole better, and where this is concerned it means that individuals must be looked after, becuase any damage done to a person, affects the group in different ways... like tides, or ripples, or dominoes....mmmm...pizza..
