wow - that's an amazing idea, isn't it?

I have heard that idea tossed about before... but not in the complexity that Wolfram is writing about.... I am going to buy the book the second it comes out... My Step-Father works as the Research Manager for the Alameda Research Center run by IBM.... he is the one who discussed the theory with me... they use something akin to it to build lubricants which coat hard drives so they do not wear out so quickly.... as a matter of fact it was him who developed the current lubricant that is used worldwide by all hard drive manufacturers...... it is also used to coat floppies... he has a PHD in Chemical Engineering.... through MIT...

i will be interested to see the full body of Wolframs work...

Now, I'm no genuis, I know that... but what Wolfram is going after sounds either incredibly stupid, or incredibly incredibe. The idea is insane, but that's the point isn't it? That the physical world is not controllable. But what about actual intelligence? He said that storms and galaxies seem to possess intelligence, but what about the human brain? is each individual's thoughts decided by this system? Could this new science be mathematical FATE? is each thought and idea simply trying to fill every possible gap that there is? What if we fill that gap and we reach our "six seashell designs" limit? Every thought will be repeated... huh. Wow, I won't sleep tonight, I can tell you that.
