Worms and age!?! same tissues as we have, similiar to us? At three days old, a worm is like a twenty year old...an old worms really look old. She mutated most, most died, some lived on...a four week life span versus the two week...the worms born at the same day, one is the size of it's age, but acts much younger, the other one that does not have the mutation is old...doubling their life span!

If she can make me immortal she can do whatever she wants.

well another option she found was to remove the reproductive genes...that extended the worms life to...I just ran out of time...I did find it rather fascinating.

i think the research is alright as long as we do it thoroughly and extrapolate how it would affect the gene pool (we dont want to kil ourselves off early now do we?)...

also i think we should keep genetically engineered organisms off the market untill we can map what will happen farther on down the line

actually they were talking about creating drugs based on what genes they found that affected the various...functions, but a mutant worm does seem kind of scary

Godzilla had a hard time with a mutant worm once, it nearly killed him, what chance would we stand??

all she is doing is removing a cetain gene, so that another cannot fit there, and thus she has slowed the aging process...all the monster movies I have ever seen are the result of toxic or nucleur chemical products....besides wouldn't you be grumpy with no reproductive organs?

thay also have done memory studies with goldfish...they would get the goldfish drunk(adding alchol to the water), have him learn a maze and then put him through the same maze and clean water...the goldfish could not remeber the maze...they put him back in the alchol water and he remembered the maze...
