It seems the best place for psychological discussion fits here, so this is what i'm curious about currently...
what do you think stimulates these aspects to a person, chemical imbalance, keeping with an image, stress. All these are factors that are pointed at, but how does a normally happy person that seems to have no reason for emotional issues suffer such...weaknesses in their psyche? In your best philosophical opinion of course. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

..well, depression is Chemical, it shows up on a CAT scan, as does Schizophrenia.
Ihave an abnormally high protein level in my spinal fluid that makes me sociopathic and a really fast learner but I'm not going to go into all the boring neurology I've picked up over the years....
I think most emotional and mental ailments are chemical in origin but how the persons brain deals with the particular stimulus dictates their symptoms.
Every brain is different in how it handles stimulus the only thing thay have in common is which part of the brain handles the stimulus.

but are they REALLY chemical in ORIGIN? or is the shift in chemicals just an indicator or tag to other neurological processes?
i get way down when i leave a relationship that i invested alot in. what triggers the mope? why would chemicals just happen to build up just after a breakup? ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I didn't think you were susecptible to "mope" rougue, i'm glad to read it. I know some people who didn't give a second thought to a serious relationship they invested years on, maybe they were in shock, i dont know. I suppose it is the personality, Gustav Jung's ego aided by your environment. The structure of your personality versus your development of your personality. Your personal unconscious versus your collective. How you use the "complexes" and problems in your life. blah blah ill fucking shut up now

Somehting really interesting is that in so-called "primitve" cultures, suicide, personality disorders, drug addictions and psychosis are very veyr rare compared to how amazingly rampant they are in "our side" of things. oh they had their fair share of unstable people...but they were the fools, wise people or burned as witches, in present times they realize that it's a brain disorder and not "evil spirits" To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

aye... in some cases the "disorder" people are cursed or blessed by god(s) or the spirit(s)...
peyote is only used by the medicine men of the southwest tribes because it disturbs the "balance" and internal harmony their religions strive for... case in point, the Navajo way of life. ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Jordyn, I think you're mistaking "primivite" with "dark ages" of the so-called "civilized" people. I'm talking about people that live simply, hunter gatherers, tribalists. Thats sort, not the early peoples of our arrogantly named civilized society. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

less stress? and when they did have any "mental ailments" it was a hole in the head to free the evil spirits...how do you know the mental health of ancient peoples? Not even archeologists know that...only the skulls they've found with holes cracked in the skull. All the instances of "hearing the spirits and gods" how do we know that it was actually spiritual and not a form of schizophrenia...psychology only came into being with the freudian era of the mind. and they have no crazy people, why is that?...bring one of their shamans into a modern city, put him in a suit and place him before a psychologist, have them tell him in detail his "spirit communcations, divination methods, visions and how cows blood allowed him to see what others do not..etc. they'd diagnose him as insane...crazy people weren't always locked up or dangerous, and sometimes they strike cords of truth...some cultures fear it, others embrace it. prove it! who decides what's insanity and what is not? I don't believe that tribal societies have no insanity..maybe it's the cannibalism, eating the flesh of falling enemies, shrinking their heads and men with a dozen ten year old brides, and women not wearing tops with naked children running around licking toads is as sane as anything else, maybe that's what keeps people sane than? *strips her children
you presented the arguement so prove it rather than a matter of opinion, i've placed examples that can be backed up with any national geographic magazine. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

you can't beat national geographic
Carl Jung was interested with primitive mentallity, not because he was looking for problems in their nerosis, he knew he couldn't determine that because of what you said jordyn. He traveled to Tunis and Sahara desert to observe them first hand. He obviously couldn't understand them but he observed their gestures, mannerisms, facial expressions, and emotional reactions. He adapted his word-association methods by seeing their reactions when he talked about a subject, and when their face registered emotion he knew he had touched a significant subject. He did the same in India and Ceylon when he was studing eastern religion and mythology. Doing this might of helped him understand the modern persons personalities/pschology

chimps can be insane... too many cheap cigars inducing dizzyness which then leads to roller skate related repetative conconsions... ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

i watched this show about growing up as a teenager and it stated that during your teenage years your brain and all the wires and shit within are more sensitive and long on shit harder......which might explain some of us, i know it does me, for as a teenager i fell hopelessly in love with a girl and began slitting my wrists (albeit worthless) when she left me.....the funny thing is the same girl did the same thing to me a few months ago and i am just like blah, i got too much other shit to worry about......
although i am an extremely depressed person i do not quite know why now, it was so easy for me to write it off on love, but perhaps certain mental disorders are like addictions......if it weren't for my depression i wouldn't be able to write poetry, stories, music, etc.... I was masturbating
just contemplating
the color of suicide | |
