Ahhhh love.....who can define it but the poets? Personally I believe there is healthy love and unhealthy love. Healthy love makes us better people and unhealthy love, well, it leads to obsession, depression and finally the agonising death of hope. Can you love someone if you don't love yourself? I don't believe so. I've found that people who don't love themselves seek what they believe is missing in themselves, in someone else.

i think it is possible to love someone without loving yourself......when we consider people who are suicidal, which is an implication of not loving yourself, we sometimes seem them in love......at one point in time i did not love myself and was head over heels in love......

It really depends on the individual situation...but I do think that you have to be at peace with who and what you are before you're able to love. Sure, you might have qualities about yourself that you don't like, but I'm saying overall...

hmm........well whose to say how to define loving yourself? i mean, is not liking yourself at all, despising yourself, and not caring if you are to die, mean that it is impossible to fall in love with someone.....i mean, is such a case point scenario thwe basis for thousands of romantic stories and movies? do they not occur? has their not been that sepcial someone you loved, which causes you to love yourself? i have been through such a scenario......

I would have to say there are different kinds of love as well as different levels. First we must define love: strong affection
You can feel that way with out feeling that way about yourself. However when most people talk about love their thinking of the feeling that makes us do crazy things for a person True love doesn't fade right? So you could definately do crazy things for someone because you "love" them, but unless its "true" love it eventually fades due to the fact that no matter how much we hate ourselves we still want good things for ourselves. We'll soon get tired of this person and giving them "love" cause we really need to give that attention to ourselves. Usually, the person doesn't even know why they fell out of "love." They look to an outside source to fill the hole and then blame them when it fails. And so begins the cycle of misdirected attention. So while it is possible to love somone without loving yourself as much, it rarely lasts. You need to love yourself to truely appreciate and understand love in its truest form.

one cannot truly love another until they can finally love themselves..
And at that point, they can love limitlessly.. They can love beyond just themselves and there partner.. They can love a multitude of people without diminishing they're love for anyone in paticular...
Thats the point where they can truly "LOVE"

Everyone hates themselfs once in awhile....Some more then others....

I think theres more lust in this world then love...Just from different experiences and just from hearing from other people about things. But when u r in love and have someone else loving u back as well it is a beautiful thing. But the heartache of having to say goodbye hurts more then anything...But thats love for ya.

one must love themself, before they are able to love another...if you don't know how to love...why suffer the consequences of being unpreprared....it's like jumping in deep water alone, and having no arms or floatation device

You could look at it another way. If you look after yourself and wellbeing, that's essentially loving yourself.

Not liking myself too much, i must say i've been in love numerous times, but i'm just not able to stay in a relationship, also because of the insecurity..
And insecurity seems to be a majure turn-off on almost everyone so...guess i'm gonna stay single for quite some time...
