~murder is when you go into a fight or situation knowing that someone is going to die. so a soldure who enters a war is a murderer if he takes the life of someone.
taking the life of someone by hitting them with your car is not murder: that would be concidered killing a person, because you did not do it intentionally.

Many states do have laws on negligent homicide. For example, if someone hits and kills a person while driving drunk, the argument for negligent homicide is that the person knowingly put themselves in a position where such a thing was possible. Essentially, they were neglectful of the very real possiblility that death could occur in such a situation, and are therefore liable in that person's death. There was not necessarily malicious intent, simply callous disregard.

There are rules of engagement with war. You can get charged with murder in war. For instance, if you shot someone that was unarmed and giving themselves up, or shot a citizen. If the person has a weapon and is willing to use it against you, or another military person, you have the right to shoot them in self defense, even if it is not a opposing military person.

Only the killing of living things can sustain life. If a person hires a hitman to kill another person, is the person who hired the hitman not guilty of murder? When a person buys bread, do they not hire the farmer to kill the wheat for them? Is the person who buys a turkey for Thanksgiving not hiring the farmer to kill the bird for him? Are their hands any less bloodstained than the hands of the hunter who kills his own bird? Have we become so weak that we can no longer face the death that gives us life?

Do we not make distinctions between different forms of life? I believe that we, as a people, do--at least, I haven't seen any farmers arrested for pulling carrots out of the ground (thus killing them) at harvest time, nor have I seen any arrests for mass murder at poultry processing plants, where literally thousands of lives are lost each day.

To state that hunting is an act of murder belies either a total ignorance of the dynamics of life, or a personal bias so strong that it precludes rational thought.

Only death sustains life, and to refrain from killing is impossible, for if a person refused to be a part of any killing, he would be killing himself by means of starvation. We can not live by eating rocks, or dirt. Only through the death of other living things can our bodies be nourished.

I think, given the context of the post, she was referring to hunting other human beings. If that were the case, it would obviously still be murder.

Prom...im sorry to say your talking out of your arse. I know fully what it feels to have blood on your hands as i understand what it means to hold someones life in your hands as they are passing away and teh only thing you can give them is warmth. The fact of the matter is we draw a line, a line that shouldnt be crossed, by your perverse logic if i fancy killing a granny and popping her chunks on a bonfire i have every right to....maybe i could just nip next door and molest the three grandchildren before murdering them, murdering their parents and then burning their house down....oh wait no because thats something our civilisation doesnt condone. Well i dont condone the slaughter of innocent lives and seeing their bloodshed and body parts paraded on TV. Idylically i would prefer it if none of us ever had to eat..or as seen in the startrek next gen serise replicators actually create food from matter thats just floating about. Untill then i limit the amount of life i take by being a vegan.
