i'll go first i think i am capable of hurting a person but would i choose to kill that person no. i couldn't do it.

Yes, without a doubt.
I wouldn't do it for a minor issue but if anyone hurt me, my family, my boyfirend or anyone I cared about I wouldn't think twice.
It takes me a long time to get fired up enough to even think about violence but a couple of times I have found myself close to violence.
My mum was involved with someone violent and several times I nearly stabbed him. I'd be in the kitchen cutting veg and he'd say something viscious after hurting my mum the night before and I would have to drag myself away and leave the house until I calmed down.
I think it is really scary when you suddenly realise that you are capable of killing.

clearwitch, you have to believe that the minute someone harmed your children purposely and at that very moment if you had the means and opportunity to take their life as a means of self-preservation, you wouldn't think - you would do. That is the essence of humanity and parenting.
Myself, if it came to protecting anyone who looked as if they were going to be harmed or killed. I wouldn't question, I would act on impulse and do it. Doesn't make it right or wrong - it makes me a mother! (and a human being as well)
