The only rational explanation needed is that Evolution is the basis for pretty much all life science, backed up with decades of research and experimentation, fossils, and what have you.

Intelligent Design is just another way of saying Creationism. It is the way that religious folks are attempting to make Creationism socially acceptable.

i'm not your sweetheart... and there is such a thing as spontaneous mutation... factored over several TRILLION years, it's not hard to think intelligence could be a long developing mutation.

They certainly don’t have to be. I have yet to see any irrefutable evidence that either one excludes the other. Any case I’ve been presented with for exclusion has amounted to nothing more than a convenient arrangement of self serving evidence.

most scientists (at least the respectable ones that i know of) tend to not even bother with it... the numbers of chaos, the numbers of the beast... it doesn't matter.

actually, no... my gist, as it were, was that it evolution could be a product of either intelligent design or spontaneous mutation...

while it's besides the point, i'm agnostic... i just dislike human religion.

I'm inclined to believe that they are mutually inclusive, and the entire truth of the matter is way beyond our homo sapien capacity to understand.

Although I am also agnostic, I'm more inclined to think organized religion, for the most part, is more hopelessly misguided than anything.

I dont care if someone wants to believe in "Intelligent Design". I'm not knowledgable enough to say without a doubt that a supreme being didnt start the wheel in motion that eventually led to evolution and whatnot. However, the idea of an intelligent being creating everything is not science, its faith, and it should not be taught in American schools. Until we get some scientific evidence of a creator besides J0hnny's amazingly intuitive "intelligence has to come from intelligence" theory, keep it out of the public textbooks.

i don't think anyone "inside the system" of our universe can comment one way or another as to the existence of a creator of the universe. the point being, we cannot, ourselves, understand the scope of the system in total without being outside it to observe...

but then you have paradox... since it's been proven that even observing a system alters it, if even on a tiny scale. perhaps that rule only works for the universe as system as a whole, but who knows? it's all speculation.

jeez, let the religious schools have their theology classes. keep the public schools teaching the evolution thing.

religious schools will give religious educations. if parents wanted their kids to have a religious education, they would enroll them there instead of public school.
