i quite like the idea of being rich, but it isn't something i'm particulary fussy about. so long as i have enough money to pay my bills and buy myself the odd thing here and there..i'm quite happy.

i think the idea of having money just seems to stress a lot of people out, maybe they think it comes with more responsibilty an maybe it does, but i do plan on being reasonably wealthy at some point.

I got 5 only, but I have a number of plans unfolding as we speak, and hopefully it will only take 3.

I pretty much agree with Spikess on this point. I just decided to change careers, in the process taking a gargantuan cut in pay and while it's been rough adjusting, I don't regret it and I have also been learning a lot about myself in the process.

The decision to amass tremendous wealth or not to is a personal one, and I don't really feel there's a right or wrong about it if the person is just being who they truly are. For me personally, if I could make a little less money doing something I like compared to taking on a job I detested making millions, I would go for the fulfillment instead of the money. That's me. For Billy or someone else, perhaps it's different. Plus I don't think our ideas of what we want in life stay exactly they same from start to finish.

My point in making this thread is for me to see just how intense the plutophobia is in people i have a chance to interact with.

People have these wierd sterotypes, that in order to make a lot of money you have to work far more than you already do or would ever want to. This isnt true exactly. You may have to work harder at 1st when youre setting up your initial investments but once they mature your work load ends and all you have to do is collect checks.

Once the pesky money issue is out of the way and youre not living paycheck to paycheck anymore youre free do to as you please, to donate money to work in a soup kitchen to raise a family.. whatever. I find it HARD to beleive that only a tiny minority of people wish and want to work for that. I find it hard to believe that people TRULY want to work for someone else thier whole lives and just make it by "comfortably" I call BS on that. Sorry. I think we got a lot of people who are lying to themselves here.

I think it's just remnants the the "money is the root of all evil " concept in the Bible.

To be very wealthy, it is usually a combination of work and luck, not just one of the two. Being ambitious nothing to feel guilty about.
