Just curious about whether you have author/s you particularly like. My favorites right now are probably Foucault, Jung, Watts, and the mighty Nietzsche. Input?

Heidegger, without a doubt. Then of course the ever infamous Nietzsche. I'm also partial to Sartre, Camus, Hume, Locke, and anyone else in the modern continental category. But I also enjoy Pre-Socratic Philosophers as well as St. Aquinas (to a degree). I was masturbating

thinking of the subject, a bro and i back in high school used to go up to the book/coffee shop and read sartre and nietzche and he was big into camus and kant. we used to bullshit and play chess and get way to high on caffine. dani left and i was off today with nothing to do, so i figured i'd go do what i used to when she wasnt around. i was thumbing back through sartre and it hit me "why do i give a fuck about what 2 generations ago thought and percieved about the world? where's the relevance?" i also figured out i equate nietzche to lovecraft, dark fiction. take em all, take em all, put our back against a wall and shoot em, toe to toe, watch em fall, come on boys take em all.

This one is easy.
Mine shares a stuffed tiger's name.
That's right. I mean Hobbes. The other day upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

As we are still fairly young, and live in a town who's principal enjoyment is football and incest*, we are fairly new to most philosophical writings, though we have done much of our own. The few we do know of we like, such as Fredriech Nietzsche and especially Aldous Huxley. Brave New World is of particular interest.

i've always been fond of kant, not sure why...i just really enjoy reading his stuff
does Jesus Christ count as a philosopher, he was full of philosophies regarding a good life, what makes a philosopher, a philosopher, marquis de sade has an interesting philosophy, he grew up around voltaire, but does that make him a philosopher? I agree, I am also a fan of Hunter S. Thompson, who I consider a modern day philosopher. __________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Why is Nietzsche the biggest one this side of 1500? I can confidently say he is the most famous.
