Is it easy to tell those who present themselves as intelligent, smart, witty, clever(all those things i am ) versus those who with large words and presence portray themselves as being so. Is there an inherent danger with this illusion that can block that person from learning and gaining genuine intelligence because it comes to a point that they believe it to be true?
kind of like american idol...they had a show that presented the worse singers that auditioned, and these people actually refused to accept they sucked, horribly, absolutely miserable bad singers...yet they were convinced they were the next...madonna...
what causes this persistance that they are superior to those who are genuinly good? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

cause mom told me so!
but seriously, i think that knowledge comes in many forms...isn't it like 9-11? and that most tests only test like 5? well, some people just are smarter in different ways...like i am a very good writer, i can't start from scratch and have an essay done in an hour; however, i suck when talking...
my social skills are horrible, i will say "cunt fucking cock sucker!" in a resturaunt with a three year old behind me; i also have a difficult time using the correct words during a particular situation and using vocab correct when speaking....but writing and thinking, no problem.... I was masturbating

I find it funny when people think they are being clever by using big words that they don't understand.
I spend all day writing in simplified English and so usually let flow with flowery when I'm not
If you watch my posts you can tell whether I'm posting while writing or while on a break
While I find it funny to a point, I'm getting fed up of reports about that nightclub fire where the fire started "instantaneously"
No it didn't, it started instantly.
An instantaneous fire would have happened For an instant not In an instant.

Fero, Just for you "A Fire Happened Instantaneously in close proximity to A Dictionarian"
Words that don't exist and oxmorons are fun.. I think oxymoron is the word.
I find most people will hold tightly to their self image, whether good or bad, because it works as a defence against a world, and an inability to cope with what they think people will think of them. May Chaos Be Visited Upon You.

i understand that, when i was younger and cared about being accepted by "normal" society i inhibited a lot of my thoughts, and even to a point my intelligence because few people could understand how a "kid" could think on such a worldly scale...but then i realized there was a subculture that was equal to my intelligence, presented me with new knowledge, experiences and enjoyed my original outlooks...the age of eighteen and discovery of "life" was an amazing age...and once i've got my children firmly rooted on self existance, i can once again explore the strange new world that's emerging as an adult secure in my beliefs, mind and thoughts... I believe intelligentsia is in the eye of the beholdera. Wit or twit ? I couldn't really give a flying fuck. I like to think I am a logician. When I stop getting my own jokes I'll start to worry. Oh no, I think I detected a little conceit amidst the lint, in the belly button of my abstractions.

big ones are sometimes so much easier then a lot of little ones.'big ones are for the lazy', you could say. i don't think i use big ones, just ones that help me explain myself, and that is the whole idea...yeah?
i must admit i was trained to be a word-whore.....i just fuckin love 'em, but that has nothing to do with intelligentsia. Learn as if you were going to live forever. Live as if you were going to die tomorrow. --Mahatma Gandhi

Thought is shaped by words to those brought up by them. Eskimos have hundreds of words for snow actualy. I love language in all it's rich variation..both slang and complex or rhetorical speach have thier purposes. Why limit yourself to just one area of communication? a funny thing, truth... it waxes and wanes based on a person's perspective and to what extent they assimilate information (whose authority they wish to base themselves on). ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I thought it was the other one that was pop culture..could be wrong! I generaly accept that most of what I say may be a pile of proverbial 'ass'.
