I don't think Humanity can Evolve anymore. Unless there is a drastic change in the environment. For instance lack of gravity. Ya see Humanity changes the environment to suite itself no longer do we have to change to the environment. Just a universal truth

We are still evolving but we cant judge if its in the right direction, in one of strength and not weakness.

I think we are evolving into a weaker life form.
We are so dependent on everyday things like cars grocery stores ect ect that no one can really do anything. Human Race Is To Dependent on the jobs of others. How many people do you know that would survive if we went back to square one?

As long as there are carbon based life forms...that live die and breed..there will be evolution. Genetic traits passed down..mutations..adaptation..species are always slowly changing and evolving.

As for evolution...I watched a show with some scientists and their theories on evolution and our species...they are predicting that the climate is going to get wetter and warmer(sounds fun)and so our species will evolve to have the required necessacities...amphibious additions!...they even designed images...a very interesting lizard type of humanoid...that wasn't for thousands of years however, so no worries...yet

The whole point of evolution is that we are EVOLVING away from "square one". There's no need to hypothesize about what "would happen", because even if mankind comes full circle and back to your little "square one", the technology we have today will have become obsolete in such a way that the strongest would be able to survive or else the species would die off. Umm... the very basis of evolution, honey bun.

*if* the THEORY of evolution exists, then we would definately carry on evolving. and about how we are getting weaker, as people, we are, without all our technological toys, we would have crap all resistence to sickness, cold, heat etc etc. we're evolving to a future of pansy assed humanoids...

and i'm thinking this:
these days we are far too safe. there's a hole in the ground, we put big signs and fences around it and so the stupid people don't fall in and hurt themselves. think of it like this, if we were less saftey conscious, only the smarter ones [hey there's a hole in the ground, i'll make a point not to fall in it because that would hurt a lot] or really strong ones would survive - strong smart babies - evolution by eliminating all the stupid weak ones.

I'm with you on this one, survival of the fittest doesn't really cut it anymore, it should be survival of th most intelligent.
The only problem is that intelligent people need to keep their minds occupied and the best way to do this is think of better ways to protect stupid people from themselves.

Evolution has always, at least from our point of view, been a slow prossess. Although, if you look closely around you, you will see signs of an evolution, for instance, the children in grade school right now are learning and _retaining_ more information then I did when I was a child. This is an reaction due to external pressures, which at it's heart, is what evolution is all about.

and I would have to say that the human race is not evolving at all. Oh maybe physically yes.. but mentally we are not. we do let our technology do everything for us and it sickens me that the human race will go back to square one, not because it's better for us, but because we will wipe our "technologically advanced" asses off the face of the dying earth. No, i'm not some tree hugger or anything else. I just believe in the intelligence man is capable of, and I can't believe we have all been lulled by the false sense of security, ie. technology.
