Evolution is the process by which an organism becomes better suited to it's environment. The ultimate goal is to be at the top of the food chain. While primitive animals must still do this, humans have reached their peak. This is because we now longer have to adapt to our environment, because we make the environment change to suit us.

The bible tells more than just history (or storys as you may preferr).

As far as I know Adam didnt write anything down, but I imagine he would have told about the truth to everyone.
The babylonians could have just made up storys based on those teachings.

I understand that we don't have a science forum, but I must protest the topic of evolution being left in the same forum as the be all end all of the thinking mind, religion. It only makes the fundies smile to see evolution treated as debatable on the same terms of Hinduism and Islam.

Science is the evolution of religion. But I would just put it in the General board myself. I hate all these fucking side-boards.

The Babylonians Predate any Christian writings by about 1,000 years.... the first hebrew entry to the bible was Genesis.... which was brought by Abraham to the Holy City from the babylonian city of Ur.... Abraham left Ur when the babylonian King gave the Jews thier Freedom.... although they were pretty much free folk in most Babylonian cities.... some though considered slaves were richer than the common babylonian citizen.... as i have stated before... you need to do some research before arguing these points.... i do it.... what makes you so special that you can provide us with baseless assumptions???? research..... and reading.... are those beyond your grasp???

Maybe in your touchy feely everything is as right as everything else and no one should make fun of anything world, but in reality, science and religion are very different and came from seperate branches of learning.

Consider how knowledge is aquired and passed on through generation's until it becomes common knowledge. Isn't that evolution?
It does make us better suited to our envioroment.

When are you dumb bastards going to actually look at the older threads about evolution? I stated a perfect explanation as to why evolution is an impossibility without some outside force that we do not yet know of. By the way, natural selection is NOT evolution, but a tool of evolution.

i do not know where any othoer evolution threads are, so i will not look for them......

anyway, an outside force? i disagree, for if you do not consider the millions of years that have evolved without some unearthly outside force, such as a metorite, then there is no outside force.....for evolution may entail organsims, but speaking in terms of the world, there is no outside force......although, i will agree that specific organisms need an outside force to evolve....

i was watching this show the other night talkng about evolution among islands.....on certain secluded islands, bats no longer fly but instead walk, certain birds, other than penguins, swim, and certain land lizards have adapted a way to survive for a few hours under water.....somewhere in hawaii, which was explained as the most diverse climates (ranging from snowy peeks, to deserts, to marshes, to jungles) has a certain bug which can survive atop snowy peeks, feeding off other bugs which mistakenly were blown up there and froze....

hawaii has 20 of the 21 Climates upon the Earth... Sub-arctic is the only on it lacks..... Mauna Kea goes from the ocean to almost 13,000 feet in a mere 60 miles..... all 20 climates can be found on the Big Island Of Hawaii....

of course, id hate to be on the hawaiian isle during a sea impact of a large asteroid... give me mountain valleys baby!

Only if it occured in the Pacific.... hehe.... if it hit the Atlantic.... well bye bye England and the whole US Eastern Seaboard.....

hehe I live in Utah..... about 4,000 feet above sea level..... and lots of much taller mountains around.... with tons of caves...
