I know that love is the strongest for the simple fact that with love comes all of the other emotions! When you love you have this fear of being hurt and in the end when it's all said and done you've felt the most horrific pain and you hate the person for what they did you fear the same thing in the future and you are sad and depressed for it! So I think that love is the strongest! Thanks for the great opportunity to say that with this poll thingie!

Most people are giving reasons for why they feel that the emotion they've named most powerful is most powerful. It's not worth closing, because there isn't a cut and dried answer. It's a poll based on opinion, and that will vary, not only by who you are, but by what you're feeling at the time.

I've got another question to toss out... What, in your opinion, is the most destructive emotion? I believe it's jealousy, because it involves elements and aspects of all four of the ones you've named above.

Jealousy/envy is a worthless emtion, that too many people have (me too).

Jealousy is merely a part of Love and would probably not exist were love not too..... So that can be attributed to love as well...
Love is the strongest emotion hands down... from its "City" you can follow any road and find every emotion for they all relate to this one.... "You can not truly HATE someone unless you have known love for them first"

well, yeah i can say its true...ive been hurt to before...but u have to move on and try to mend those broken pieces...sure itll never be the same as it was, but as long as ur alive, there will always still be a piece of u to give...(i dont mean sexually either)

In my opinion the answer to your question is simple........Hate. The reason? Look at the Nazi empire, Hitler played on the hate of his peers (by useing the jews as a political scapegoat) and they took over most of Europe! So, yes, hate is more powerful than any other feeling.

And yet the Germans did what they did moreso out of Love for thier leader than Hate of the Jews.... err... suffice it to say that one cannot differentiate between the two... so both ultimately are the same thing...

and by that reasoning i say that they both cancel each other out...

pain, on the other hand, cannot be canceled by pleasure... sure it can be dulled... but not nulled...

oh, dear, i 'm not sure i really want to get into this, but here it is: pleasure and pain are the same, ask any die-hard BDSM-er...
