What does a culture of a certain people accomplish? Most cultures exist to chain down the minds of people. They create hatred for people who are different than the ones in the community. The ideas of right and wrong are based on trivial superstitions. These cultures get mixed up with morals..
Soon there are fanatics blowing things up.. hating things.. destroying stuff.. all in the name of their culture.
I read an ad for an asian airlines.. it said that their air hostesses are the best because their culture raises women to serve others better.. then they had pictures of girls making tea and sweets for their brothers....
People believe that we should not judge other cultures.. I think we should throw culture out and judge what ever negatives exist in humans... Why shouldn't we judge other cultures?
I've lived in lots of cultures and i've found out that the basic right and wrong exists everywhere.. Screw culture.. if one culture kills women for some weird reason then thats wrong.. we can't choose to ignore that.
Most of all the problems in the world today are because of cultures..
"America is satan" because the girls here are free to wear what ever the hell they want to wear... When I was in pakistan one of the MAIN TOPICS of discussion was CLOTHING.. Stupid bearded bastards discussing how evil the USA was because *whisper whisper* "the girls wear bikinis to the beach* That might sound far fetched.. but its true.. its a HUGE issue for them.. It might not be the only reason.. but bleah...
I've come to find that the concepts of the human being are mostly petty. Our ideas of society as a whole are petty. We've set standards for how everything is to be. Acceptable appearance, acceptable behavior, acceptable possessions, acceptable events, anything and everything has a certain standard. We've deluded ourselves into thinking we can control our surroundings.
I admit, to me a bit of order is much more preferred to chaos. Society gives us advances in technology. Hell, I owe my whole life as I know it to our concepts of society. But I still can't help but find so many aspects of society so petty. And where the problem lies is in the exact direction you pointed out; society is too judgemental. It seems these days no-one can focus on themselves and what they're doing and what they choose to uphold. They're too busy checking to see if their neighbors are upholding the same beliefs or not, and how best to force their neighbors to exhibit the same opinions as themselves. Things would be so much better if we all just only focused on ourselves. Find something offensive? Don't do it, then. Don't associate yourself with it. Who gives a fuck if the other guy is doing it or not, what's important is that you yourself are not enacting the things you are against.
"Do you know how a falcon is trained my dear? Her eyes are sown shut. Blinded temporarily she suffers the whims of her God patiently, until her will is submerged and she learns to serve - as your God taught and blinded you with crosses."
NO!!!!!! cultures as you say are a seperation of people, which in fact can be even cut down further....for example here in america we all seem to share some kind of culture, but then it gets cut down further to races, creeds, sexuality, personality styles, to even "i am me and you are you" and that right there is where the even the smallest of struggles are found........"goddamn you! you are not me! die asshole!".......so before you go pointing at cultures for the blame of judgments and what not, look at yourself first......and by the way, you make a culture, the culture should not make you......

i have to agree with this one here...i think society is more to blame than a culture...culture defines who and what people are, society is defined by the who has and what they think people should be...there have been a great many cultures in history and they started out good, but as their society grew things began to fall apart...people start wanting to destroy those that don't "fit" into their ideal mold...and then that society continues to swell until it destroys itself...rome is a classic example...a wonderful, advanced culture, but it was the society that brought it down...and nothing will change until people do...

Humans seek to understand the world around them..they do this through simplifying the world into more easily understandable categories. Culture race religion age sanity intelligence etc all have no definate boundaries but for the most part this is ignored. one main problem is that people fail to acknowledge when these categories are false or even harmfull as this threatens thier view of the world which creates fear. Equilibrium can only be reached when a human feels they know enough about the people around them to assuade that fear...fear being an evolutionary precursor to danger and death.

Hense why we fear all change..we also fear other cultures because we fear the unkown and assume other cultures are so vastly different that there are no grounds for communication or empathy to start when in fact all people are pretty much the same the world over. There can be no understanding without empathy and culture limits understanding of each other.
