I guessed you missed the point of a child molester getting off scotfree, while victimless crimes can get you decades in prison. also about your accusing me of never having to work a hard day in my life, i have worked second jobs for free in order to gain marketable skills, i have worked since I was 14 as it was mandatory in the independent living program I was placed in. I have usually worked two jobs, my longest run was doing demolition, framing, hanging and mudding walls during the day and then bartending.
Ive been in everything from djing bar tending and bar management to locksmithing to demolition, construction and structural repair (jacking up houses and replacing beams etc) to owning my own home inspections company and being a home inspector to the job I do now handling hundreds of thousands of dollars in people's interests as their advocate.

I certainly have flaws and shortcomings in my character in a few areas, and trust me Im my own worst critic on the merits, but Ive never been lazy or gone looking for someone to take care of me. Now I am realizing and enjoying the fruits of my labor and life is good. It is a blessing to appreciate the small things. But Im sure youre quite familiar with that.

It doesn't sound like you want to actually be saying much I'd disagree with, Derdy, but you could use some serious work on saying it more concisely. It's not dumbing shit down to put your argument in the cleanest, most precise format possible. It's actually enabling better communication and debate.

Lets take a short look at why you were not warned for this statement and than get back to your little piece about white knuckled mods.

Firstly IF in a debate that is seeming to go somewhere between folks sometimes the random insult will get overlooked because it seemingly does not cut the stride of the debate in half-- which is the case here. Though if that insult had become the focal point of a flame-war which drove the entire thread off-topic we the "white-knuckled" Moderators would have had to find the root and cut it out and warn the person who decided to begin it. This was not the case as the debate went on without a hitch.

Now derdy. We do have rules here. Those rules are a guideline for healthy and great debate without descending into a pit of neverending flames and idiocy. If we as Moderators see that a random insult does not effect the main point of a debate we will allow it and continue on. If it is seen to fracture or harm the ongoing debate it will be tended to.

All we ask is very simple in ideal. Do not attack the poster rather attack thier ideals because once you attack the poster themselves it often leads to the end of the debate at hand and goes into a spiraling downward flame-fest of absolute stupidity.

We are not white-knuckled. We have a set of rules which you may or may not agree with that we also must follow and interpret on a case by case basis. Whenever we do make decisions someone is going to hate that decision.
Our present system is the most merciful system we have ever had in place.

So please do not assume. And please do not degrade conversations by demeaning others.

I'll agree that the Greeks did well in establishing philosophy on a global scale but eastern philosophy alone was established well before then.

well I wouldnt say it was established. It was rudimentary at best. Eastern Philosophy didnt get its big kick until Buddhism arrived from India and merged with a lot of the crude taoist theories. Even then the greeks had already been ahead in that field.
