Have you ever met someone of average intelligence? Not that impressive, right? Half of all people are less intelligent than that, now that is a scary thought.

Well, half of the people are smarter, half are less smart. If you want to be technical, it's half minus one (assuming there is one guy we can pick as THE average person).

Thats true, its very hard to set some sort of standard for intelligence. My one friend is sorta dumb, can't even spell, (that sounds cruel, i'm sorry...) but he can take a night and learn CGI Script, which he did. Everyone has their strong points.

i have this one friend, she's the nicest person in the world.. but she's thicker that shit!

she does stupid things and well... she's failing scgool.
she asked me to read one of her essays.. and to say the least.. it sucked.
she had no sentence structure, nothing flowed or joined. nothing made sense and lastly her spelling is worse than my 8 year old niece.

another time we were standing at the canteen/tuckshop at school and she wrote down her lunch order and spelt hawaiian.. "hawiyun" and donut "doenut".

and theres the rest of the school population.
fair enough they smoke in the toilets, but their friends who dont smoke either lie on the floor or sit on the floor eating their lunch...
or the guys that bring alcohol to school at drink it.. and then get suspended and they cry, wondering why. ahh

yes, stupid people piss me off.....but what is the true definition of stupid? i mean, what do you consider more valuable as knowledge....booksmarts or common sense? and i do not think it is fair to claim that people are below average intellectually (although i will not deny it) because i feel extremely intellectual within certain areas but a fucking ignoramous in others......

I do not consider intelligence to be an important factor in whether or not I like someone. I'd rather hang out with Forrest Gump than Adolf Hitler, know what I mean?

hmmm...i never think about the intelligence of people. well, unless it it remarkably high or low. i just assume everyone in the middle/average bracket then.

I only have a problem with stupidity when it's mixed with other bad qualities, like arrogance.

While I would prefer someone who doesn't kill people as a friend, I need there to be at least a little sparkle in their eyes to really enjoy their company.

Given the choice though I'd rather have the chance to talk to Hitler than a stupid person (and forrest gump is a fictional character which bears little relevance for a comparison). Maybe Dan Quayle (sp?) wasn't he regarded as rather dim?

I agree I wouldn't have him as a friend but wouldn't you like the chance to see exactly what made him tick from a study point of view?

besides, hitler wasnt THAT intelligent... he just had a way with words and a driving ambition... those two do not intelligence make.

quite true..... one does not have to be intelligent to have a great charisma... though when you do have both it is a great thing... shit... look at me.. lol....

ahh, see i disagree....hitler may have been a great charismatic type leader, a great speaker and what not, but that does make him intelligent in that sense.....he was far more intellectual in that field than i could be......and like i said, i feel quite intellectual in certain areas, such as philosophy, understanding, creativity, but i am retarded when it comes to shit like math, memories of dates and things.....i think we should just consider what is intellegence, i mean it obviously comes in various degrees and levels, but even the most autistic(sp?) person can do extreme intellectual things....

IMHO, a term stupid is very subjective (damn, and what's not subjective in this world?). Some people may be good at sciences like math and physics, but have no knowledge of literature or history or lack common sense. Others can write a fine essay, but are poor when it comes to mathematics. And then some people may know something about most things, but don't know things that are known to more specialized people. I personally am terrible at writing stuff and speaking, but I am decent at sciences and can use logic effectively. It is impossible to learn about everything, so most people just learn about things that are more interesting to them. People usually judge others by their own standards, but they are variable from one person to another. But in my opinion, it is that most people just have some stronger sides and some weaker sides.
