I'd like the input of my fellow forum writers who have entertained me with their delightful offerings, why is it when i read something recommended or what everyone is raving about i don't find it as spectacular as it was described or all the hype...have you ever had any experiences like this, especially if it's a published work and in your opinion your's or another's is better?

i usually rant a rave about my stories, although i have none posted here or yet published, but where i attend college i am known for my puzzling poetry and my dry dark humor with short stories.........maybe i will post one of them sumtime...

anyway, i think it is all just a matter of opinion, like alot of people i know are into that Chuck Palnihuk guy and i found him to be a bit repititious and boring

It's all in the interpretation, I suppose. We read something that connects with us on some level, and instinctively want to share it with friends, lovers, family, or whatever. The problem with that basic instinct is that we all think differently, and have differing cores of interest. Even with those like-minded individuals, the meaning could fall short, or be taken an entirely opposite way.

It's what makes life so exciting. Though it is highly annoying to have someone share the experience, only to find it sorely lacking. I doubt any of us will end the pursuit, however, based on that slight annoyance.
