| Lovers Sacrifice A man stands on a dark street alone. His only company
is the poorly lit street light on the other side of
the cold asphalt. Slowly coming out of the dark lonely
void, a couple very much in love stop under the street
light. They, not able to see the man, kiss and hug,
under the light. the man backs up a step to assure his
silhouette is not seen. The man watches the couple
dance to the music in there heads under the streets
light, he pays attention to every sway of there
bodies. He watches two bodies, to souls become one. A
single tear falls from the mans cold emotionless face.
The man with his shaking hand pulls a metallic object
from his pocket, and whispers to him self as if
someone could hear him, “I’m sorry it has to be this
way.” Suddenly a car
turns onto the dark road. It lights the whole street.
The couple is caught by the dark figure. The man
quickly drops the metallic object and suddenly
disappears into the night. The couple puzzled by the
man walk over to the
place the he was standing and finds a gold ring, a
wedding ring. The man so confused by why someone would
leave there wedding ring on the street doesn’t notice
his partner pulling a matching metallic object from
her pocket. Then she notices something she had never
seen before. An inscription in her
ring. “I will always love you, even if you love
another.” The women’s eyes fill with tears as she
falls to her knees whispering to her self over and
over again. “He knew, why would he go so long?” “He
knew why would he go so long?”
