It's urgent ...I have to make it to her in time ...
I remember,looking into her eyes once and finding only darkness...
The next thing I remember is her telling me to wake up, it's safe as she held me in the plam of her hand paralyzed in fear .
I've never looked into her eyes again...
That was in my first days and probably the first time she saved my life.
Dark Claw, the clan leader usually just stamps out the runts of any kindling's in his clan.And while I was strong and healthy I was no more than half the size of even the runt of my nest ,but then like I said Dark Claw didn't believe in runts...
It was only by Shadows swift hand that I didn't suffer the same fate of my unfit bretheren.
In fact even in my first week the other members of my generation ,tried to hunt and kill me for fun and Dark Claws approval...
That's how it is in the tunnles, the strong survive and the weak are prey unless they have an escape,and in this case it was my unusual sizeand speed that saved me from packs first strike .
Their attack was planned they'd seen to it that I couldn't leave the nursery...
What they hadn't planned on was my being able to fit into a baby bottle, out of reach and protected from any normal attacks.And hiding in that bottle headfist so even I was helpless was how she saved me again,since on of the other kids even at that age had gone to Dark Claw for a small Claive or silver dagger to spear me in my glass fortress.
She seemed to know ...
So she came...
More of my breatheren became history that day ...
And after that, Shadows found a special place for me where i'd be safe an none would dare threaten"The one who hides in Shadows",as some would come to call me.
Fire Dance Part II
Shadows means the world to me she's always been there for me.
Except this time.
I'm on my own for this one.
Ans even though I turned out to be one of the clans best Tunnel Runners, I should have known better than to try an take on a Fallen by myself...
I'd asked Jumblia ( One of the Clans Voo Doo Rats) about Shadow's eyes and she told me they were like that because something was missing ...
Jumblia is the only one who knows where I've gone;She saw the twinkle in my eyes and knew what I was planning and told me flat out I had no chance of stealing anything from the very lair of such a powerful Fallen .
But seeing the nature of my prize,she could send me to another world where the Fallen had less power but I too would be without my powers.
Seeing as I never use my Cronos form she didn't think it'd matter as long as I could get in and out in the limited time she could keep a doorway between worlds open.
If I could get what I was after in that world it would work in this world just as well since it would be the same prize.
So summoning a great fire,she told me " As fire you leave this world and by fire you shall return!!" haking her Jujuj staff over the flames..
" BUT HURRY THE WAY IS FRAGILE AND FLICKERS AS THE FLAMES !!!"

To my surprise I fall from midair about five feet as some human standing in a doorway lights his cigarette,and in a blind panic I run in the door instead of outside and hide behind a metal crate .
Lucky there's not much light in this small room,so I wasen't seen.
I sniff the air and to my disbelief,I smell her...
Shadows is here?
I look up to where the sent is comming from and see feet hanging off the bed while the bearded human smokinglooks into the darkness of the streets below outside...
In another moment of stupidity,Ijump to my dearest friend calling out my joy to see her...
The human on the bed screams when she sees me!
Shadows never wore glasses ...!!!

I dodge the book she hurls at me as her man comes to her aid trying to crush the intruder!
Dam he's got big feet !!!
He runs to her as I dive back out the door and run down some stairs into the night.
She's still screaming...
Later...
By following my info and hopping the underside of cars at red lights I find myself outside of town and close to my target ,it's taken me most of last night and today to get here .
I hope Jumbilia's holding out,I think as I rest by the driveway,I'll need my strength to get into the house.
As sunset begins, I rush up the drive thinking so far so good when I smell the Cat! There would have to be a dam cat here. Now I know this isn't going to easy,I have little chance of fighting a cat on this world where I can get hurt since I have no powers,so I wait.
I don't have to wait long as a white car pulls up to the house, I run with it till it stops in the drive.
These humans are odd I think to myself as three of them get out of the car.
One of them is large,broody, and silent wearing the symbol of life, while one with corn colored hair and glasses steps out of the car bouncing to the door with mischief as the driver speaking with many tongues places a stuffed lobster on this shoulder then heads for the door as well .( He smells rather familar ) .
The way in ...!
The bellowing voice of the Fallen summons them from within.
I enter with the humans who are too busy talking among themselfs to notice my entrance.
The cat smell is stronger now ...
though a bathroom they arrive at the Dread Lords lair..

Fire Dance part IV
There are others gatthered inside I see from my hiding spot under a table,five more, two craxy eyed thin men one who looks unblikingly at the death for entertainment as video avatars battle and the bearded one who moves like a court jester making funny faces commands his avatar in battle against that of another large human with low cut hair and a wide grin of doom as his avatar is victoriousto the pleasure of Zero Bear-Breaker!! As I here the shadows who's name in this world is Jessica call the Fallen as she claims the next battle for her man who's beside her.
I wait again...
I listen and see my prize in a jar.
Feeling safe surrounded by his minons, the Bear-breaker leaves his treasure out in the open as they leave the room talking of building a bon fire for tonights festivites.
Leaving the room suddly quite as they leave the building,I head for my prize atop a desk on the far side of the room ...
The door to this room suddley slams shut !
I've beeb tricked !
And im caught in the act of seizing my prize as the Dread one with a look of wonder says" Whats's this!?! "
Thinking quickly I reply hoping to save my skin.
"I am Noodles..! "
with his eyebrows arched he replies " A talking Rat?,in my soul jar ?"
"Where I come from much more is common".
"What are you doing here little rodent?" he asks as he crosses the room .
"I've come for this soul."
" You want the soul?" he says picking up a guitar...
"Yes I wish to return it to a friend of mine,she's nothing like she is here".
"Your world?" he asks as he places a hand under his chin and smiles.
"Knowledge of such things I will gladly trade you for this insignificant possesion of yours" I say feeling I have a way to pull this off yet,as I can see the interest in his eyes flicker.

"The soul of a loved one for knowledge of the unknown "he mumbles to himself then bellows"Why not! I have no more use of it ! Rat you have yourself a deal !"
"Sign this contract but know also that you have but to the Sabbath to deliver the soul and you must return at regular intervals to tell me more of other worldly things that I ask of you or all is revoked !"He claims as he quickly writes out the deal and summons a witness.
The ankh wearer returns to the room "you called Nate?"
"Yeah,guess I did he laughs as he tells the silent one to witness the contract .
"Little one I suggest you hurry on your way"he mocks as he opens the door to his room for me to leave.
It seems even here on this world deals can have hidden standards,as while the Bear-Breaker has opened the way out for me he makes no move to ensure my safety from...
"Miranda, good timing girl" he calls to his pet as The Cat walks into the room!
She dosen't see me at first but her nose tells her where to look as I move like quicksilver jumping from my stool to her back and then out the bedroom door .
She screams he fustration as her master laughs at my situation .
When Jessica ,the not my Shadows opens the back door asking "where are the sodas?"
It would seem she has startled both cat and Master !causeing the distraction I need as I dart out the door to the outside that quickly closes behind me, as Miranda bounces back off the glass in anger as I make good my escape...
When I too am suprised as my vison blurs as a hand covers my contract stuffed face and "Looky what I got !" yells the wild corn haired one as he dances with me in hand around the others at the bonfire showing off his catch .
The others speak but I can't hear them as my ears are pinned and I can't breath in his death grip, with my prize in my mouth that I will not let go the darkness starts to close over me .I've failed my Shadows who will never know how I died for her ....
I'm tossed into the light!
My world becomes fire as I enter the bonfires flames and find myself outside a cardboard home on a dark but familiar dock.
I'm home !!!
Just three blocks from the Ramon warehouse my clan lives under in Seattle 2035!!
But am I still on fire I ask myself as I start to crawl off towards a sewer entrance to my home when on my paws I find Blood !?!
Blood...
It's a common sight in the tunnels...
I'm just not used to seeing mine painting the floors as I pull myself home,seems Miranda didn't miss me on my way out the door, my backside is a bloody mess and one of my legs is worthless,I know it's shock sparing me from the pain as I feel the warmth leaving my body though my wounds .
On willpower alone I fall to her from a roof pipe calling to her as I descend...
My landing is soft as usual she's always there for me...
I hear her screamsas the bloody mess I've become hits her palms and the darkness takes me ...
It was worth it ,it's still Sunday ...
Shadows will be whole again I think as I release her soul back to her ...
and release my hold on this life ..
I the writer would like to point out at this time that in the orignal book format that, this what would be the next page ( which I might add is only one page short of the end I choose to give all copys of this story half fact mostly fiction a tatard copy of the contract between Nate "Zero-Bear-Breaker" and " Noodles Raman" but due to the nature of said contract and while I might be shareing this story with you the reader only thoose who were part of this story need see such a heidious thing as an actual contract for another persons soul ) ..
The very fact that two people I knew had made such an agreement was the reason for this story, careing for them both I had to set this straight ..
And to the shock of some fo the readers is the fact that indeed the next page in this story is blank ..
Saddly this just is'nt as dramatic in this format ..
So some of the readers did infact think that the simple white page of nothingness was the end for Noodles ...
Luckly I was able to point out to them that there is One Last Page past the blank one ..
And for thoose who looked on this is what they saw ...
The next thing I remember is laughter and cheers as I awaken in her breast in fron of the whole clan as Shadows kisses me on my forehead then yells at me how scared i'd made her feel when I came to her a bloody mess like I was dieing and it was all just soakable wounds,and the next time I'd better dam well just sleep it off and heal instead of making her think she's lost her Noodles..
There's a fire in her eyes now...
It's warmth will be with me now no matter where I go as long as I live !
Jumbulia says next time I should let the crows do thier job as Ratkins have no business moving between worlds and carrying souls...
But for shadows I'd do anything !!!
