Family Ties(working on it) I am a wanderer. A collector. An observer of the race that is humanity. I see the oddities, the unexplained, and the strangeness that surrounds the lives of the people I meet. This is one such story, a story of two sisters.
There is often a bond between siblings who share in a traumatic experience. This is the story of Rachel, and her older sister, Lydia, who lost their mother in an accident three years earlier. There were many questions surrounding her death, and now the sisters are about to learn the terrible truth surrounding her death.
My name is Rachel. Three years ago my mother died in a horrible fire. The cause of the fire was never determind, though the inspector thought it was due to faulty wiring. The odd thing is, her apartment was the only one that burned. After the fire, her body dissapeared from the morgue, the cooler she was stored in seemed to have been broken out of, though a charred corpse could have never of done that.
A week after the third anniversary of her death, we recieved an envalope in the mail, whose sole contents was a card that stated "Her death is not what it seems" with a name, Marcus Holden, on it.
"Do you know who that is?" Lydia asked
"Beats me, never heard of him" I replied.
"And what the hell does it mean, 'Her death is not what it seems'?" Her faced crinkled into thought
"Well..... her body did vanish from the morgue after all. They never found a trace. That would qualify as weird" I responded
Things were about to be further complicated by the fact that I was getting ready to move out into an apartment of my own, and I still wasn't quite sure how to break the news to Lydia
"Well whatever, right now is not the time to worry about it. Its hard enough being reminded of how she died each year, we don't need this on our minds right now" That was the last we spoke of it that day.
A strange fog, and cool weather had begun to settle in the part of town we lived in. Even during the middle of the day the mist was at best dense. Unknown to us, it was also the herald of what was to be a journey of discovery, and of horror, for my sister and I. Over the next few weeks we were going to experience terror that was thought to have only exsisted in movies, and the harsh reality of what happened to our mother was about to be revealed to us in a most horrific manner | Published by | | | Proud papa Join Date: Mar 2002
