The Hasegawa clan wasn't the biggest clan in the country, but it was by no means small. They had a reputation for being the best and most reliable. They also had a reputation for holding a secret, and for guarding it without mercy. They were the clan you just didn't want to tick off.
Koji's earliest memories are of standing on his fathers shoulders, holding his hands and trying to keep his balance, and his father letting go of first one, then the other hand. He didn't realize at the time that it was training, or any of those other exercises for that matter, but they continued without fail, or without pause. His life was that of a warriors, but was not limited to it. His parents made sure he was well schooled in several languages, reading and writting them, as well as mathematics, history, music, art, and philosophy.
At age 15 he first began his work. Bullies, muggers, rapists, kidnappers, extortionists, murders, he went after them all. He has taken down entire gangs of thugs single-handedly, faced the mightiest warlords, and gone toe-to-toe with the fiercest samurai.
At 21 he was taught the secret of the clan. He spent a year with his parents in 'secret' training (secret even from his siblings). After that he knew he had to go, but at the same time he realized he wanted to leave as well.
For the last 5 years he has travelled, trained, and studied. Tibet, India, and Persia he saw, his coming always expected by certain holy men wherever he went. Now finally to Europe he has come, to face his destiny. |
