The Story:

Germany: The Birthplace of The Warrior
Let’s go back to the time before Germany was ripped apart by political turmoil and war. A time before belligerent nations were at each other’s borders threatening to wipe the other off the face of the Earth. This is the time in which we shall begin.

At this time, political parties in the German Republic had just started to take differing positions on key elements of the future of the German governments; some were upfront with their ideas, others were not. One of such deceptive parties was the Nazi party, later to become mega-popular in the world of the Germans, and a major menace to the world at large with the onset of World War II and The Holocaust. The Nazis believed in an Aryan Race, a dominant and perfect race of human being that would eventually take over the Earth and declare absolute authority.

The Nazis believed that they could boost the evolution of such a race, and therefore started selectively and secretly breeding humans from the most desirable of parents available. They went to far as to even operate in secrecy, withholding any information of their ongoing efforts to create the master race.

The year was 1918. In early April elder members of the then fledgling Nazi party agreed to begin with the final stages of what they believed to be the final recipe for the perfect human. For years superior people had been stolen from home territories and countries, never to be heard from again; they were forced to take part in inter-mating with each other- given the choice to breed or die. The Nazis were left with two teenagers in 1918; two teenagers in which they believed would produce the perfect Aryan. The two were forced to have sexual contact under the strict supervision of top Nazi officials, and it was soon learned that the female had indeed been impregnated. It was in the month of May.

A baby boy was born in November of 1918, and showed signs of perfect health. The Nazis were overly pleased with their new medical “triumph” and promptly named this child Alaric Deiter, meaning the ruler of the entire world. Young Alaric was the true Aryan in which the secretive party had been looking for. He would grow to be their pride and joy, and eventually their leader.

The Dormant Monster Awakens
Alaric Deiter had known his whole young life that he had been superior to others, he had been told numerous times by important people that he had known, and by others that he had not. It was announced on his third birthday that he had been diagnosed as a genius, with an I.Q. of 180 exactly. A child prodigy. By age nine young Alaric had already had five years of intense studies and physical training, and competed in numerous tournaments of the mind and body. He won every one. With his exploits slowly becoming more and more well-known throughout his home country of Germany, the Republic began to question his relationship with the ever-popular Nazi party officials.

The Nazis denied all allegations of having ties with the young Deiter, and kept the truth a secret until Adolf Hitler became the chancellor of Germany and the Nazi party reigned supreme. At age thirteen, Alaric could learn nothing more intellectually from the most highly educated educators in the world, and was made to begin study on fighting arts, warfare tactics, and the use of weaponry. He was being trained to be the leader of the world. He kept with his studies until he was the age of 23, and with the rise of the Nazi party, he was finally recognized as their perfect Aryan, their crowning achievement of bioengineering. He was the first of the master race that would take over the world. \

With the onset of World War II, Alaric Deiter was appointed General over a branch of the new German army, and was sent on several successful invasion missions. His fame steadily grew and with every mission completed he was given more political esteem and eventually held much sway with Adolf Hitler himself. His last mission as General occurred at Stalingrad in the northern steppe of Russia. This battle was later known to be the major turning point in World War II. Faced with certain death or retreat, the ever proud Deiter refused to leave his position and hold his ground, but ordered his troops to retreat back to the safety of Germany. They never got out. As soon as his men disappeared on the smoke-filled horizon Alaric resumed his attempted bombardment of a Russian armory. He quickly used all the artillery and hand and was moving to hop on a turret gun of an otherwise broken down tank when a Russian grenade was thrown out of nowhere and hit the tank.

The tank exploded in a ball of flame and molten metal, and half of Deiter’s body was disintegrated, mutilating his perfect Aryan form. He was barely alive, bleeding seriously, fighting back shock, lying helplessly in two major pieces on the frost bitten Russian soil. To his great luck, or by an act of God, one of the soldiers in Deiter’s division disobeyed orders and hid under a wrecked convoy vehicle to stay at his fearless leaders side. The young soldier’s name was Zan. The young man rushed out amid enemy fire and scooped up what was left of Deiter and ran 13 miles to the nearest German outpost. Badly injured and barely breathing, emergency surgery was performed by the top German surgeons to keep the Aryan alive.

Hell on His Sweet German Earth
When Alaric awoke, he was no longer in Russia. He had been in a drug induced coma for two years. The Nazi party had been defeated in the end, their dreams of an Aryan Race were dashed with the German defeat in World War II. Deiter’s body had been given prosthetics both inside and out, only through miracles of the modern medical sciences was he even alive. His catatonic body had been safely hidden away in secret bunkers in the German countryside by Nazi officials right before the German defeat and Hitler’s suicide. Upon awakening, Deiter nearly went insane at what had been done to him. After all, he was the perfect human, why had they put all of these machines in him? Little did he know that this had been done to keep him alive… and now he was the most powerful human on the planet. While fighting an intense depression based on his new state, Deiter began to research about just what happened the night of his “death”.

Political Ties
Alaric Deiter learned that a soldier had disobeyed him, and in so-doing, saved his life. The soldier’s name was Zan, last name unknown. Deiter learned that this soldier courageously carried him thirteen miles through the harsh Russian wilderness to a German outpost, where he was saved. What Deiter learned next shocked him to tears. This courageous example of a human being, this Zan, was murdered the exact same night that he had saved Alaric himself. Deiter learned that upon walking out of the medical tent young Zan was shot forty five times by two apparent assassins. These assassins were in fact members of the Nazi German army themselves but were influenced by other secret political parties to kill Deiter himself. When the two traitorous soldiers learned that Zan had saved Deiter from inevitable death, they murdered him. Zan was murdered for saving Deiter.

Nearly crazy and confused about all that he had learned thus far, Alaric made a vow: to take the name of Zan as his own to remember the spirit of the warrior that saved his life. To him, this was the perfect example of a human, not any Aryan, including himself.

Deiter was labeled a lunatic; his ranting and raving about “Zan” and the “master race” were deemed too sore a subject to be spoken of in public. German doctors were forced by the new German government to put this decorated Nazi general into another drug induced coma.

Present Day: 2001
Early January, 2001. United States Navy secret project Z.A.N. is underway. The United States government had somehow acquired Deiter’s body and had started doing some fix-up jobs on it. After 19 months of intense work by the country’s top engineers and surgeons, a top secret war tool had been made. All that was left was to… wake it up.

This proved to be harder than previously thought. Alaric Deiter had been in a coma for years, and his organic body parts were slowly rotting away into nothing. He was dying. Top Secret medical procedures were used, some so alien they were thought of as science fiction by most of the population. It seemed some scientists from Japan and America had teamed and together had developed methods to download human brainwaves, personality traits, and memories onto hard disk. This emergency procedure was preformed on Deiter and everything humanly connected in his brain was thus put on a mega-powerful computer chip. Deiter was now the million dollar man. The surgeons, no longer faced with organic material to deal with, began work on a new robotic body.
The product was a cyber-kinetic android. The first of its time, made to imitate exactly the way Deiter looked the day he was blown in half by the grenade. His outward appearance is human, but he is completely mechanized. He is a war tool, he has the artillery of a small third world country housed in his body.

Deiter, the android, was initiated in the year 2003. Upon awakening, and having retained ALL of his human feelings, emotions, and memories… Deiter went on the rampage. Enraged at the thing he had become, and yet at the same time trying to hold on to the memory of what all had happened to him, Deiter escaped the secret Navy compound in which he was being held and immediately after- destroyed everything and everyone within six city blocks of the site. He went into hiding, and slowly came to grips with his being- his existence.

Zan is nothing less than a perfected technical fighter, who knows many various forms of fighting techniques. Obviously, Zan has extensive knowledge of the use of all types of military munitions… and is lethally dangerous with ALL kinds of military firepower.


Zan’s relationship with Hiro is very mysterious, and all will be explained… eventually.
