What Movie(s) scare you? - 11-02-04

I would like to think I was desensitized to hollywood blood and gore at a very early age.(Started watching horror movies at the age I started to comprehend television) I have been told my love for horror movies is inherited by my father,(who the hell inherits stuff like that?) who was obsessed with dracula movies.(in fact, first date he had with my mom was to see a vampire film)Anyway, thought I had seen it all.Jason slashes this, freddy stabs that.chucky bites someones nose off.But I do recall The Texas Chainsaw Massacre scaring the living shit out of me.I knew there could be cannibals out there somewhere, its logical. So I assumed they would come after me in some way.The first time I saw it,was on a grainy ole video version, and it looked like a documentry.*shakes head* Meeting Gunnar Hansen didi'int really help it.Well a little.Im still a little scared of it,and would freak myself out if I saw it alone in the dark.

The Blair Witch Project. Let me explain. I saw it the first day it came out,and was scared in the theater, and could'ent sleep that night. However,It went away, and Im no longer afraid. The sequel was horrible.
Leatherface still scares me,somewhat. In part two,and three,he was freaky. But the newer one is not that scary, and certainly not the cross dressing version of Leather in part 4.

When I was around the age of 9, I saw Halloween 2.Days after I saw it, I ended up in the southwest hospital for four nights. ( I forgot why, weird, huh?)
I remember thinking that Micheal Myers was in that hospital.Scared me,but I love that movie. No longer scary.

Also one night while I was young, I was waiting for "Return of the living dead" to come on USA up all night.I fell asleep, and awoke to moaning, and screaming from the movie. The part where they were trying to board themselves in the funeral home.Scared the crap outta me,thought I was in the movie or something for a split second.

So what movies got the best of you?

Ola,

Movies that scare me,

well, i'd have to agree with 6(sic)6 on this one, in that I havent really been scared by a movie in a long time, yet I've been disturber by many, like House of 1000 Corpses, and this tv special "A Real Robbery in Little Colorado" in movie format.

But, the exception to my "I'm not afraid" policy is The Ring, yeah yeah, shut the fuck up and let me explain.

I saw it alone one night, about 15 mins after I saw it, my g/f calls me, and I answered with "Who the fuck is this!"

THEN, after I got off the phone with her, I went up stairs to grab a drink, when I got to the kitchen my little sister (7 y/o) was coming out of her bedroom wearing a white gown...

I almost kicked her down the hall while screaming "You can't take me!"

Anyway, I don't know why I felt to share that with you people, so fuck it.

On another note, I felt the Grudge was worthless as far as an after effect, it failed to
establish a threat with my sub-conscious, like if I lived around that house in Japan.
The Ring was different, I saw the supposed video...

Blair Witch Project?

Ok, sure, uhh, me too.

I hope that you've enjoyed my storie enough to keep your flamin' thoughts to yourself.

hmm, the only thing i can remember and even then i am not sure of the memory was having nightmares when i was 5 from King Kong. not going to explain i am not sure of the memory

You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

the only "recent" movie that sorta scared me is The Ring. GEEZ that scene with the girl crawling out of the tv is f'ing scary (btw these smilies are awful LOL)

that scene got ruined for me though i was watching it with a mate on dvd and just when the girl is halfway out of the tv, his gf phoned him and he paused to movie for a good ten minutes

i tried to stay in the creepy spirit by staring at the girl and ignoring their lovey dovey crap.

ever seen Cannibal Holocaust or Cannibal Ferox? they're these old 70's italian flicks (but with english speaking actors) and like, well....they kill real living animals in the movie.....they're the whole reason that "no animals were harmed during the making of this film" law was set in motion.....

like, in Cannibal Holocaust they drag this back-water sea-turtle out of the amazon....thing was fuckin' huge....and they chop off itz head, though the first two hits just kinda cut it badly....then they cut off the legs, then crack open the shell and play with itz organs.....of course they cook and eat it, but it was GROSS.....yucky!!!!

but yeah....as far as disturbing goes....if you want a nice, yet harsh, introduction to the exploitative genre, watch I Spit On Your Grave, it has the longest rape scene in movie history (with the exception of Wicked Pixels' Scrapbook which is s'posedly 88 minutes of pure gut wrenching brutalistic male power).....but um, for a more "thematic" exploitative film, watch Irreversible....itz a real good flick, done very well.....and the murder scene is so awesome and gorey and looks so goddamn real.....but the ass-raping scene is i think 10 minutes long, one long camera shot, and then the woman is beaten damn near to death....very hardcore, very hard to watch....but the movie in itz entirety is genious....

but, if you wanna truly scare the depths of your soul, if you don't want to be able to sleep at night without recalling the horrible of horrible movies....Salo also known as 120 Days of Sodom......that movie will fuckin' bother anyone....i don't care how hardcore you are, that movie really pushes the boundries........

As far as 'Scary Movies' go, they have no scare effect on me what-so-ever. When I watch a movie, I know that it is a movie, Period. However the ideas in certain movies tend to bother me afterwards. IE 'Irreversible' 'House of 1000 Corpses' 'Se7en' and more recently 'Saw' it is the ideas in these films that I find disturbing, mostly due to the fact that this sick shit happens everyday hundreds of times... yes maybe not to the cinematic level of said films, but that is the seperation that allows me to sleep at night.
