well, theExorcist deserves credit in the horror genre because it is classic and has frigtened so many(in its time), but it didnt scare me, so not the scariest to me, but perhaps the scariest over all?

the exorcist was damn scary cause it was so damn realistic. evil dead scared me 2 cause of that laughing demon girl with the rolled back yes. and serpant and the rainbow because it is based on a true story
Exorcist and Amityville Horror are 2 of the scariest movies i have ever seen because of the reality to them

Jacob's Ladder is one of my favorites, but I found that to be much more of a thinker than a horror movie. It didn't leave me feeling I would have nightmares; instead, it left me feeling like I was going to have a killer headache from pondering the afterlife too much.

lol, I was quite surprised when I saw you'd said Chuckie aswell actually, I thought we were opposites. Anyway, check your poetry thread, I commented (I have a new poem on my thread too)
Scariest? I'd have to go with The Exorcist: The Version You've Never Seen, the one with the deleted scenes returned. If you just let yourself get into it (and waive all the 70's trappings) you will know your heart is beating and when it'll jump. The deleted scenes make all the difference in a movie we've all seen 7 dozen times.
Second place may go to The Amityville Horror. I've read the books both films were based on, and Exorcist gets the prize. Amityville had so much more potential thta never made it to film. The book version was much more frightening than the movie: I kept checking my window for the glowing red eyes...
Of course, being forced to watch any movie with Barney the Dinosaur wins over both those two...
Just remember: without me, life would be that much more unbearable....
