well, now that they've made 'Interview with the vampire', i think they should proceed 'The vampire Lestat', this time without Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. As good as they were in potraying the characters well, they're not well suited to the physical appearance of Lestat and Louis. maybe they could use some real European actors who have a real adrogynus look..... If I go crazy then will you still

Yep, would be nice to see Lestat as a movie. Other books I could think of: a few Shadowrun novels, H.P.Lovecraft works, Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time", C.S. Friedman's Coldfire trilogy. Cannot think of any others at this point (all the other books I have read in last year HAVE been made into movies at some point of time)

Speaking of vampire books - I'm looking for Poppy Z. Brite's Lost Souls in film form. Heard some rumors, but nothing more.
I also think you could get a great soundtrack out of Hop on Pop. be respectful to your To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts., if you have any

I'd like to see the Simarillion or Dragons Can Only Rust (one of my personal faves).
As far as Vampire Lestat goes- they're already making a movie that's a combo of VL/Queen of the Damned, and if they don't have Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt again I'll shoot them. While the characters in the movie didn't match the descriptions in the book (especially Armand- a 30-some year old hipsanic guy with black hair playing a 15 year pale-skinned Russian kid with auburn hair?), I thought the entire cast was very good. Frankly I'd rather have good actors than bad actors that look exactly like the characters. When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

but im extremely excited about the Death:Time of your Life (or was it High Cost of Living?) script that was turned in by Neil Gaimen the other week.
Also in Gaimen related goodies... for some reason i have this urge to see his collaberation with Yoshitaka Amano, the DreamHunters, be turned into something similar to Crouching Tiger. Theres just enough of a mix of reality and fairy tale to make it work, i think.
I do agree with the call for the wheel of time series to be made into a film, but not until its finished (anyone know when the next novel's due out?) and definitely not until a few years after the tolkein series is completed so it doesnt come across that Jordan and Co is just tryin to make a few bucks off the Rings flav. ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Armand is one of my favorite characters....he's suppose to be a cherub child...and they made him to be....**hiss** cannot speak of such horror. Anyways I'd want The vampire Lestat to be made into a movie also.

While I agree with you all about makeing "LeStat" into a movie, I would really really like to see Memnoch The Devil made into a movie. And the best part of makeing that into a movie is all the angery church people bitching about how that movie makes God look more evil than good. The Church would hate it.....hehe.... but anyway, yes........I would like to see Memnoch made into a movie. Child of Divine lust...........

The book I would like to see made into a movie is Messiah. It's about a seriel killer who is killing people with the names of the apostles and he is killing them the way they died in the bible... In the world of darkness
In the valley of shadows
In the cave of echos
I wait
Oogie boogie then you die.
How do you kill the dead for they can
not die twice. | |

I think maybe Vampire the Masquerade would be a good movie too, instead of an RPG or a book.

I would have to say Violin of Memnoch the Devil.
I loved them!

I'm trawling through Anne Rice's The Witching Hour - could be made into a reasonable film - there's enough deapth to the characters. There was a series I read years ago by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens that would make a great movie. The books were "Shifter" and "Nightfeeder", and either one would be a great movie. Now if they'd only finish the series...
And as long as they're turning video games into movies, I think "Resident Evil" would make a kick-ass movie...
Kat ...the cat on velvet pattens stole along the quiet hill. "And this" she whispered "Nephew, is the way to stalk your kill..."

So, does anybody know when Queen of the Damned is supposed to be done?
Ah, I'd love it if they would make Memnoch the Devil....that was my favorite out of the vampire chronicles.

I didn't realise it had been a book, i just thought they nicked the idea from Seven.
